* Warner holds the ball for a long time. No doubt about this. And no doubt you can not do this against a better defense. I think our hot handed QB may becoming spoiled with the time he has to throw the football. While this seems like a good problem it could be the very thing that discharges us from the playoffs.

You all saw the shelling Warner took in the two games we lost. Much of that was simply holding the ball to long,  which is directly proportional to the mediocre pass rushes we had experienced up until those two games. Against Carolina, we again dominated the line of scrimmage and Warner used every bit of time he was allotted on a lot of his passes. He will not be afforded that luxury in the playoffs this is a given

* I am convinced that Kurt  Warner is a good QB. I am also convinced that Kurt Warner can throw the ball where the ball needs to be thrown. But I am not convinced that Warner is confident into throwing into tight coverages. I am not convinced that Kurt Warner is getting a proper read of the Pass Rush he will face in the Playoffs. So our easy schedule could very well be the thing that hurts us the most.

* Kurt Warner can take this team to the SUPERBOWL and win. We need to build this offense not around Issac Bruce, not around Marshall Faulk,  but around Kurt Warner. Still, although Kurt Warner is a good quarterback,  he is not yet what he is capable of becoming.

This is the time to work on Kurt's weakness and make them things of the past.

We need to have Warner  releasing the Football COMFORTABLY within 3.5 seconds by the playoffs.

How can we do this? First  of all I do not believe that Warner is holding the ball for so long because all the receivers are covered. At least not covered to the point where a different,  more experienced more confident less spoiled (for lack of a better word) quarterback would avoid throwing  the ball.

I think it has reached a point where Warner has gotten spoiled by the openness of his receivers along with the time he has to throw the football. So we shorten up the patterns and go with high percentage quicker passes and slowly (at Warner's pace) deepen the patterns as Kurt gains confidence. He is going to throw some interceptions yes but I can assure you that that has to be part of the learning experience.

We have the ability and the luxury of working on this until the playoffs. This ain't going to be a candy coated offense forever and confidence can take you a  long ways after the talent starts to decrease. (Look at the Niners).

I would not even have written this if I did not think that Kurt Warner can become as talented or more talented then Jeff George without the attitude. The more I watch this kid throw a football the more I like him. I am not bashing Warner.

3 things will  happen if this is done. (1) The Rams win the SUPERBOWL. (2) You build a strong confident QB in the best environment possible. (3)You do not ruin a QB with his potential.

Remember guys when you are on top of the world there are only 2 things you can do---go down, or stay on top.
