NICK MARSCHEL REPORTS:

I caught the Coach Vermeil show last night and he made the following comment (paraphrased):

Kurt Warner has the second best stats of any qb in the history of the nfl after two games played  (behind only Dan Marino)

He also gave Charlie Army full credit for finding Kurt Warner and convincing the team to get him.

Another tidbit: Vermeil got quite angry when a caller suggested that Shaw gets credit for getting rid of Tony Banks. Vermeil gave the impression that it was his decision alone to replace Tony with Trent Green.

GIVE EM THE HORN REPORTS:

Maybe next week we can have someone collect questions from the Herd to
phone into the show.

1. Lee will not be back before the Niner game.

2. Conwell coming along great but will be at least  mid-season.

3. Warner is under contract for next year. Team policy is that you don't lose your job to injury.

Green will be the starter, Warner the backup. Will Warner have the chance to beat Green out? He's not  going to worry about it till the time comes but the situation will be handled with class.

4. Quote "John Shaw DOES NOT interfere in football  decisions." Unquote D.V.
