Questions for Steve Maruicci (assuming of course he isn't fired)

1. Steve, you inherited a Super bowl team, and their record and play has diminshed ever since. Is this any indication of your skills?

2. Steve, exactly what was going though your mind when Bill Waslh traded your starting FB without telling you, and only for a 4th rd pick?

3. Steve, convential wisdom has it that rookies who miss training camp with injuries are not anywhere near ready to play on opening day, yet you played McGrew and Okeafor (sp), and they were ineffective. Why didn't you hang on to some experienced DLs?

4. The team looked a little rusty against the Jags, and it wasn't because it was raining. Do you think letting key veterans sit for most of the preseason games had anything to do with it?

5. About that D, we know your an offensive coach, but how do you explain a continuing decline in points allowed the last 3 years?

6. If the NFC West is such a weak division, why have you won it only once in the past three years?

7. Barry Switzer inherited a Super Bowl team, and by his third year, he had a super bowl ring too. You inherited a super bowl team, and you have ????

8. What were your thoughts when Eddie DeBartolo (sp) plea bargined his way out of a jail sentence? What is is like to work for someone with mob connections and interests in gambling?

9. Do you regret giving extra bonuses to players such as Rice, Norton, etc when that money could have been used on a quality FA to fill some of your holes at RB, OL, TE?

10. You claim you are a contender for a division title and the Super Bowl. Yet, you are replacing all of  the following opening game starters from a year ago---RB, FB, TE, ROG, ROT, 1 DE, 1 DT, FS, and CB. Additionally, several key backups to those and other positions were not retained. In total, you have 21 new faces on the roster this year. Convential wisdom says such massive changes in starters and total personnel in one year does not produce a Super Bowl team. Care to elaberate?

Well, I could go on, but I think I'll stop here for now. Certainly after a few games there will be other interesting questions.
