1. HOW DOES POMPEI LIKE HIS CROW? BY EASTRAM (Dec 15)
[An e-mail exchange]

Dan, One of the posters on the Rams Update page posted your May article re: Marshall Faulk.

In light of this season, your comments weren't very accurate, an understatement to say the least. When do you print a retraction or confession of the grievous sin of sports pomposity?

***Jim: Marshall Faulk is having an outstanding season, much better than I thought he would have. I congratulate him, and beg forgiveness for "the grievous sin of sports pomposity." I hope it's not a mortal sin. Dan Pompei. ***

2. GOLIC V. CLAYTON ON MVP, BY DAVE (Dec 14)
I heard an interesting conversation this AM [Dec 14] on ESPN radio with John Clayton and (Mike) Golic.

Golic has been pushing hard for KW to win the MVP.  Clayton was asked what he thought.  He replied that while KW is a GOOD player, Payton Manning is a STUD.  KW is just driving the race car while PM IS the race car.  That makes PM more valuable, according to Clayton.

Golic fired back with the fact that all the press talks about is the "Triplets". How great a threesome they are. KW came out of no where and is getting the job done. Clayton stood firm.

Then Golic, using  Clayton's own analogy of driving the race car, said that Montana and Young don't deserve MVPs either then. They both ran a Cadillac of an offense under Bill Walsh. Golic went on to say that Montana and Young probably would not have done as well if they had been on another team.  It was the system that made them great, same as KW.

Clayton didn't have much to say after that and that was the end of the MVP discussion.

3. RAMS 2000 SCHEDULE, BY XMANN (Dec 15)
Besides the Rams 8 division games here are the teams we will be playing next year.

Home----Denver, San Diego, the 1st place team in the NFC East, and the 2nd place team in NFC cental.

Away-----Kansas City, Seattle, the 1st place team in the NFC central, and the 3rd place team in the NFC East.

P.S. That Chiefs game will make a nice road trip!

My info is straight out of RamsUpdate.
