First things first........

This is the scene in Eastern North Carolina as residents struggle with Hurricane Floyd's aftermath.

Thanks to everybody who kept the hurricane victims in your thoughts and prayers. You don't know how much things like that mean to someone until you are in a situation like we've been in this past week.

On a personal note.... thanks to The Rookie, guard109, Zack, Dr. Snook, and my fellow Admins for being concerned along with anyone that I have missed  [couldn't read all the posts........you guys talk too much!!!! :-) ]...... my family appreciates it!!

We left Wed. at 3:00 PM for Eden, NC (I live close to Faison....about an hour from the coast), which is on the Virginia/NC border.... 30 miles North of Greensboro..... about 160 miles from home to the Northwest. What should have been a 2.5 hr drive max took 5 hours due to heavy traffic from evacuees.

>From what I've been told, we had winds over 125 mph here and have had over 10 inches of rain. The damage in my immediate area wasn't as bad as you would think it to be, but any of the four or five people that I've seen that had a tree in their living room would tend to disagree with that statement I'm sure.

My only damage was a 75 foot tall white oak tree falling in my back yard, barely missing the corner of my house and landing 2 ft in front of my car (that I forgot to move to the front yard.....DOH!!). Power was restored last night around midnight (out for only 24 hours or so).

But there are still 10's of thousands that can't even get  home..... roads are still flooded and trees are down to the East and South of us. Water was standing 5 foot deep on I-40 between Warsaw and Wilmington....and several highways have washed away from the flash flooding....areas E&S rec'vd close to 20 in. of rain in a 24 hr. period!!

Anyways, enough rambling....... I got the tree cut up....the computer hooked back up..... checked my e-mail(I am way behind on things!!) and have gotten things as back to normal as possible.

Thanks again guys....... you are the best!!!!!!!!!
