Now that my delirium has started to subside.....(wow, WHAT a day).....

For the last few weeks, I've been harping on all of the media pundits who have been refusing to give the Rams respect, failing to acknowledge the obvious, and frankly, just *missing the boat* on how good this team has become.....

Better late than never, as they say.

The weeds are gone. The NFL story of the year has arrived. And you know what??

Not ONE of the following quotes is an overstatement.

What a difference a day makes.

san fRAM's "Not-So-Boneheaded-But-What Took-You-So-Damn-Long?!!" statements of the week!:

>From the national media:

"After today, you *have* to say, 'The Rams are *officially* FOR REAL.'"
- Tom Jackson, ESPN.

"Those Rams - they're FUN! .....The RAMS!"
- Chris Berman, ESPN, turning to the camera at the very end of 'NFL Primetime.'

"Next to walking down Rodeo Avenue (sic), the most fun you can have right now is watching the St. Louis Rams' offense."
- Terry Bradshaw, FOX TV.

And - *MORE* surprising
- from the San Francisco Bay Area media:

"DON'T call them the "Lambs" anymore..."
- Fred Ingles, Ch. 2 sports reporter.

"The 49ers' mystique is gone. The Rams' win was no fluke. Right now, they're obviously superior on offense and defense to the 49ers."
-Glenn Dickey, sportswriter, SF Chronicle and perennial Rams basher.

"RAMS BOMBARD 49ERS"
- Headline, SF Chronicle Sports section.

"The carnage was total.....the undefeated Rams (can) officially proclaim themselves a member of the NFL elite..."
- Nancy Gay, Chronicle staff writer.

"You're gonna go all the way, Baby."
- Bill Walsh, to Dick Vermeil at post-game press conference.

"How many games did they win last year?? Four?! This just DOESN'T happen!!"
- san fRAM's co-worker, upon paying up for losing bet ;)

And the following statement that says it all:

"...at this point in the season, there is NO BETTER LOOKING TEAM IN THE LEAGUE right now than the St. Louis Rams."
- Joe Fonzi, local sports newscaster, Fox (Ch. 2).

Enjoy this feeling, guys.

I ran outside of that SF sports bar yesterday towards the end of the game, looked up at the Rams flag that was flying high above the doorway (they hang the Niners' and their opponent's flags outside the bar each weekend)---and I saluted that flag and thought of all you guys.

I thought of WV Ram out in West Virginia, Zack at some sports bar out in Maine, Pedro and all the guys rocking the Nationals down in West Covina, UK Ram overseas, Zooey up in Sacramento, Nittany Ram out in Pa., all the St. Louis guys at the dome going crazy---every last one of you---simultaneously enjoying the same game and the same moments.....and probably experiencing a lot of the same feelings I was out here in SF. And I was so damn happy for all of you.

Every last one of you guys deserves this.

For my money, the Rams have the best damn group of fans of any team in any sport - *anywhere*.

Long Live our Rams.
