AFTER THE SAINTS GAME
* Grant Wistrom looks like an All Pro against Roaf. He took him inside a couple of times and just moved the larger stronger Roaf right back into Tolliver.

* Listening or watching the game you could not help but hear the Rams fans drowning out the Saints fans....the cries of "Bruuuuuuce" were especially loud.

* The Rams guards have done a tremendous job of trapping this year and making blocks downfield and pulling into the opposite hole.

* How could the Saints have just let Andy McCollum walk away?

* I still consider Marshall Faulk the MVP of the team but I do understand Vermeil's logic in regard to Warner. The trade is most amazing to me still. Marshall Faulk is to my mind one of the most amazing football players I have ever seen. He is so smooth and effortless, and so very very football smart.

THE GIANTS GAME. I like the Rams chances this weekend. Kerry Collins is stumble footed and despite his play of the last two weeks I have confidence the Rams can bring some heat his way. If the Rams can contain the blitzes and heat of the front 7 of the Giants their secondary is vulnerable and Sehorn is hurt....I expect a 28-07 game with Faulk contained on the ground but not in the air and I think that Bruce will have his best game since the first 49er game.

I want the Rams to win this game as much as I have ever wanted them to win a game. That includes the numerous 49er games of the past years where I would offer the wife and children up as ritual sacrifices if only...only we could beat the bums from the bay. I am so tired of the easy schedule/inflated record nonsense. The Giants game should be tough but a victory will go a long way to putting to rest the nonsense from writers about the easy schedule.

And by the end of the season I expect both Baltimore and Carolina to either be at 8-8 or at winning records.

AROUND THE LEAGUE
* Jeff George is making me look like I know more than I really do.

*  A lot of teams would do well to try and trade for Olandis Gary after this year is over....he is for real.

* Jeff Lageman did a great job [announcing the game] Sunday I thought..much better than Boomer on Monday night. The Monday night game should be special.....Boomer is not a special announcer.

* If the Saints really do sign Randall Cunningham or trade for him this offseason they will only perpetuate their losing ways and we can look forward to more years of sweeps over them. They need to draft Redmon or...oops sorry forgot I was talking about the draft and the Saints in the same breath...never mind.

* I thought the 2 Carolina games really gave me a good barometer for how good the Rams are. I also think that given any kind of offseason help they will be our main competition in the division for the next 2-3 years. I am more impressed with George Seifert now than I ever was with the 49ers. I thought at the start of the year that Carolina would be horrible and am still amazed that he has been able to inspire those guys. How do you overcome a distraction like Rae Carruth?
