Here come the Saints. A
scrappy & tough but very beat up team. This Rams victory is not a GIVEN...but it
is pretty close to given. Maybe catastrophe will strike, and the Rams will fumble the game
away...but I doubt it. Expect the Saints to play tough. But also expect Victory #9. The first winning season in a decade. Yay. A Rams win and a Panthers loss gives the Ram the NFC West. Yay. * Fans have been in a reflective mood recently. Some are still looking back at the SF game. So in this issue of the zine, I include two more narratives by Rams fans who attended that game. It was a watershed moment---the first sweep of the 9ers since 1980. The 8th victory, the game that ended the decade of losing. So it seems appropriate to include those narratives here---it's great stuff, and those who attended that game have very special memories. * Also, fans have been assessing the season so far. Reflecting on what has happened. That's what Rammed For Life and Jim Fadler do in the pieces I include here. Two good reports. Enjoy. * Finally, there has been a lot of Minnesotta talk of late. Why Minnesotta? They look like potential playoff rivals. Everyone says they will be tough. Why? Because Jeff George and company are fresh off their extremely impressive 3 point victories over offensive AND defensive powehouses Chicago and Denver. If only the Rams had an offense or a defense near as good as the Bears or the Broncos...well, maybe, IF they did, the Rams could somehow hope somehow to keep up with that awesome Minnesotta Machine.. Anyway, more Minnesotta talk later. IF it ever actually becomes necessary.... <wink> |
