The Panthers are a
potentially dangerous club. Biakabatuka is a terrific running back ... but his presence
doesn't frighten me as much as Mushin Muhammad. He's one of the very best in the game
right now, although few people know much about him. He's had a lot of injury problems this
season, but still remains among the best. Because he's got a smart, saavy QB in Beuerlein
who can get him the football in places to do damage ... it's a problem. And, too, the Saints looked really good for a half a game yesterday. With both games being on the road, it makes it double tough. Of course, a real key to the Rams winning these next two games is in the offense coming out in an attack style ... and not being as passive off the start as they had been against Tennessee and Detroit. The Rams really need to remember what got them off to this fast start this season ... and not fall into bad habits, get behind, and then be forced to play catch-up. IF---a big word, I know---if the Rams can notch these next two games, my best bet is that they all but wrap up homefield throughout the NFC playoffs. Clearly, that's HUGE. Two wins would give them an 11-2 record. Considering the *best* any other team in the NFC can do to run the table is 12-4 ... and considering four of the 7-4 teams go head-to-head this weekend (Minnesota at Tampa Bay and Washington at Detroit) ... the losers of those games will be virtually eliminated from the race for best record. The buzz word, from here on out, is A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E. |
