RFL- The one, single moment for me is one that has often been mentioned:
The streak was on the line; the Whiners were out to put us back in our cage.
Ike lit them up for 3 straight TDs in the first quarter.
After the third, the camera showed him on the bench, hunched over the ball. His back was
heaving with sobs. The emotion of the moment was enormous--huge.
Oh, man, that says EVERYTHING about this team breaking out of prison. And I just LOVE
these Ram vets getting redemption.
It was the ultimate catharsis! That moment is forever!

"The Germans at Dunkirk"
BlackSheep takes up RFL's thread
I was crying along with Ike after this third TD. I went through the whole gamut of
emotions. At first I was stomping and shouting with excitement, a second later I was on my
knees sobbing because I realized we FINALLY had a team that could DOMINATE the 9ers. I
looked at that game as Armageddon. If we couldn't beat the 9ers in this game I don't think
we would have ever beaten them again.
But my favorite moment was at the end of the game when the Rams ran out the clock at the 1
yard line. It reminded me of the defeated Brits escaping from the mighty Germans at
Dunkirk. The Germans could have obliterated the Brits and effectively end WWII, but they
showed mercy at Dunkirk and let the Brits escape back to England. Unlike the Germans
though, the Rams won the return engagement against the 9ers as well.

JamesJM finishes things off
In keeping with the S.F. memories.....and showing the power of words:
On Marshall's board when asked how big the S.F. victories were, (paraphrasing), he aswered
by saying the first was emotional, and that for the second one, "We expected to win
that one".
Now think about that for a second, I mean REALLY think about that. Put yourself in the
frame of mind that you, me, and everyone else had in Sept. Then try to imagine the
enormity of that statement coming a matter of "weeks" later. 10 years of
absolute heartbreak and despair obliterated in the flash of an eye.
Have you EVER seen anything in sports to compare? It was like absolution. -
