I get plenty of story ideas, but very few of them ever make it to paper (or screen) for various reasons. Many reside in notebooks strewn across my flat or in text files swimming in the madness that is My Documents. However, there are two that have seen the light of day, having emerged on my website for me to share with friends.
Harry Potter and the Teflon Coated Frying Pan

This humourous and intentionally bad fan fic first emerged from the mire at the back of my mind ca. August 2005. Most of the work on the first few chapters came quickly, but time constraints and a concern for quality means that the fic remains as of yet unfinished.
Lance - An Oedipus Story

This is an original story, not a fanfic. I hope that eventually I shall finish it and perhaps get it published. You may notice the heavy Robin Hobb influence, which I could not and would not deny. She is a really great author.
Lance is a prince about whom the prophecy is made that he would kill his father and marry his mother, as in the greek tragedy Oedipus. Instead of trying to have the boy killed, the king and queen lock him in a tower. However, as a young boy, Lance falls from the tower and dies. Taunted by grief, guilt and anger, the King rules his kingdom with an iron fist, which virtually cripples the day to day life of his subjects.
After the death of her grandmother at the hands of the King's Guards, a citizen of the kingdom demands something must be done - but without his heir, what could possibly set the Mad King's mind right?
