The Week of February 25

Meanwhile up in Heaven, Rafe and the 3 angel girls are chastized by Ed. He summerizes what trouble each of them has gotten into. He tells them that they are making him look very bad and he has no choice but to put an end to it. The girls defend themselves, and offer up explainations for their actions, but Ed reminds them that they control everything. Ed moves onto Rafe and tells him that no angels go around with diaper bags- they control that too! The girls get tempermental and start to argue back, Rafe tries to calm them down but it is to no avail. Ed looks on laughingly and with the mention of hell, he claps his hands and sends them there to teach them a lesson. Rafe freaks out and tells Ed that he could have made his point some other way, and sending them to hell is a bit extreme. Ed relents and brings them back, the girls are disheveled and apologize. He tells them that they have started too many things that need to be fixed. Rafe attempts to find out if Alison is the 5th chair, but Ed tells him that they it hasn't been determined.

Livvie arrives at Alison's and finds Ali in a panic. She tells her friend that Rafe has gone missing, Livvie tells her she should be happy that Rafe is gone. Ali defends her feelings, but using her own experience, Livvie tells her that he is otherworldly and no good can come of it. She empathizes with her feelings, but remains skeptical, saying that Rafe's allure is simply magic- he is a fantasy man. Alison tries to get her to understand, and says that Rafe wanted to spend every last minute with her and wouldn't have left her without saying goodbye, he was always terrified that someone would find out who he was and would get called back. Something clicks, and Alison wonders if if Livvie told someone. Livvie swears that she didn't tell anyone, but Ali is insistent and throws her out. Livvie is upset, and leaves saying that her relationship with Rafe can only end badly for her.

After Livvie leaves, Alison breaks into tears whispering Rafe's name. A hand suddenly runs the length of her face. Shock, and joy overcome Alison as she turns to find Rafe and embraces him begging him to never leave her again.

Alison is massaging Rafe and telling him how glad she is that he's back. She says that she didn't know what to think when he disapeared. She almost forgot to breathe. Rafe apologizes and said he didn't do it deliberately. She asks if there's something on his mind and Rafe says there is but he doesn't want to talk about it. Alison says that she can't live with secrets and wants to know what happened when he disappeared. He says that there are something he just can't tell her and she has to accept that. She understands and wants to just focus on having him near, but when he left it sort of hit her in the face and forced her to think about what it would be like if he was gone forever. She doesn't think she's going to be able to handle it. Rafe says they should think about it then.

He paints a picture for her, a life that is happy and peaceful and in her dreams she'll dream about them. Alison looks like she's going to cry as Rafe says that he will whisper in her ear at night that he loves her and will be kissing her neck while she sleeps (lol, they start to get into the "dream") Rafe says she knows that he has to leave, but what they've been lucky to find is a love that never dies.

Ali laughs at the notion of writing a cookbook and asks him to tell her another story, and asks to know about what happened when he got called back. He says he can't talk about it, but Ali says that she felt like it was her fault. Rafe says it wasn't but that the baby thing will not be in the cards for them. She asks him to promise that when he does leave, to make sure it is a proper goodbye. He promises.

The oven bell goes off and Ali goes to get the muffins. There's a knock at the door and its Casey. She goes off on a rant about how she cares about Ricky and about how she knew what Ed said and she goes on and on (and mentions the 5th chair and other "angelic" things) Alison walks in a look of shock plastered on her face.

Alison begins to ask about the 5th chair and figures out that Casey is also an angel. Casey freaks out and leaves saying that now she's going to be in big trouble with Ed now. Alison wants answers and wants to know if someone is going to die.

Alison demands to know who's going to die, but Rafe insists that he doesn't know. She deduces that it must be someone Casey knows else she wouldn't be so upset. Rafe admits that its someone close to them but they don't know who it is. She realizes that it could be her, she could get to go back with him! Rafe freaks out and grabs her, telling her not to think like that.

She tells him to calm down and said that she didn't mean what she said, she doesn't really want to die. She admits that she's okay about when her time comes to die. Rafe tells her that she is going to have a wonderful life where she will find someone else to love. Alison tries to quiet him, saying "no" she doesn't want to talk about anything else. Nothing else matters except what they have right here and right now. They kiss :)

Ed decides that he needs to know whats truly going on in the minds of his angels, and invades the dreams of Rafe. In Rafe's dream he pictures coming home to Alison and telling her that he is on Earth forever. They are celebrating the news that they can live a long life together.

While the angels sleep, Ed reveals that one of the 4 is a dark angel, who harbours evil in his/her heart. Who is it? Each of the angels wakes with a start, Rafe being the last as the camera pans his profile with the fire (in the fire place) in the background.

Ed tells them to wake and says that they will remember nothing of his visit.

Rafe and Alison are looking through some boxes and start to talk about her past. She says that her parents were never really into the things she did, they were always too busy. Rafe pulls out a candle and Ali remembers a story about it. She says, with a smile, that she has a secret.

She says that it was made by her great great grandmother, Rebecca. She says she used to go to the attic and talk to an oil painting of her grandmother. She was always fascinated by the painting, Rebecca had a smile that seemed to filter through her eyes. The one thing she knew aobut her grandmother was that she was a candlemaker (odd, she remarks, for a Barrington). She said that one day she was just staring at the painting, and the longer she stared the more real it became it just came out of the painting and they talked for hours about random things. She said that she had no real friends and had to find one in a painting (lol).

Ali says that she would talk to her about everything and her grandmother would genuinely listen, she cared, unlike the rest of her family who didn't even know that she existed. Rafe feels bad about bringing it up, but Ali elates his fears and tells him that he just reminded her of something special about her past. She just wants to hold him, and love him, that's the only thing that matters right now. (cue kissing, cuddling scene :)

Rafe and Alison are kissing on the couch, and Rafe wants to start a fire in a fireplace, but it won't go on. He figures the gas isn't working. A knock at the door and its Casey. She wants to talk to Rafe right now (its important, lol). He heads out the door (with some smart remarks from Casey). Casey warns him that Ali might end up in the 5th chair if he's not careful. Back inside Alison lays down on the couch and we hear hissing from the fireplace.
