The Week of February 18
Rafe and Alison arrive in town and decide they are going to get something to
eat. They banter over who's going to pay, and Rafe remembers that his wallet
is in the car. He tells her he'll meet her in the restaurant. Ali heads in the
Recovery Room, and the waiter asks her about Jamal. She pauses to think about
what just happened, when Rafe comes in, he moves in to kiss her, but Alison
pushes him away. When he asks what's wrong she tells him that she can't do this
anymore and pushes past him. She admits that when they are alone, its like their
own perfect world but in public its hard. Everything reminds her of Jamal. She
just wants to be happy for them and not worry about everyone else.
When
Alison says that there be no "public displays of affection" Rafe is
heartbroken, but attempts to cover his disappointment. She wishes for them to
have some place that things wouldn't keep popping up, and Rafe suggests that
she move in with him at Lucy's. She, giddy, agrees. Rafe pushes forward and
says that he just can't wait to carry her over the threshold. It appears that
things hit Alison at once, and she sits down and says that before she opens
one door, she needs to close another. While packing up her things at the apartment,
she seems hesitant or nervous about the new change in her life. She quickly
glances at a picture of her and Jamal sitting on a table stand, as Rafe tries
to elate her fears. He offers to give her some time, and goes to make another
copy of the key to Lucy's place. When Rafe leaves, she picks up the picture
and says to herself that its time to move on and replaces the picture face down.

While in the bathroom, Jamal arrives looking for her (Livvie revealed in the
same show that she had not heard from Ali in days). When she reappears into
the main area, Jamal is releved to see her and pulls her into a hug.Alison pushes
herself out from the hug and Jamal reveals that Gaby got injured. She expresses
her concern. They are about to open up to each other about how they feel at
this point, and just as Jamal is about to start (looks like he's going to apologize),
Rafe walks in.

Jamal gets the picture and is heartbroken. He wishes them luck and leaves. Alison tries to get him to stay so she can explain, but he ignores her. Alison starts to cry, and Rafe pulls her into a hug.
Alison
comes into the main room at Lucy's and finds Rafe no where to be found. She
finds a sweet note telling her that he has stepped out. At that moment, Rafe
returns with breakfast and a bouquet of- what else- pink roses :) He takes her
aside and tells her that maybe the whole situation is not fair to her. Although
he loves her (and she says she loves him back) he's only there for 6 weeks.
He pulls out his watch and drives home the point that once he's gone- he's gone
for good. Alison asks him to stop, but he continues saying that he feels bad
that he dropped into her life and caused her to change so much. She insists
that she's where she is because she wants to be there. Its her choice. Rafe
tells her that if he could he'd stop the hands from moving and stay there with
her forever. Alison panics and grabs the watch from him, and throws it against
the wall screaming that she hates the watch as all it does is remind her of
when he is leaving.
Alison
takes a large book to the watch, smashing with all the power she possesses.
Rafe looks on.
Alison: Its in my face everytime I see it, everytime you pull
it out. Just six weeks that's all it is. Just six weeks Alison! Six weeks until
you're gone, and six weeks and you'd better hurry up. Just six weeks. Just six
weeks- its just not a lifetime, which is what it should be. Its just...
Rafe: ... six weeks?
Alison: And its just not enough.
She apologizes for ruining his watch, but Rafe shows her there isn't a scratch
on it. He explains that its not of this earth and it is beyond human capabilities
to distroy it. Something clicks and Alison remembers when Victor found a wrist
watch made of an unusual metal. Rafe eludes the discussion, but Alison presses
him. She believes he knows who the other watch belongs to, and asks if there
is really another angel in Port Charles.

Alison continues to press for answers, and is flabbergasted to think that there are more angels like Rafe who are just "hanging out." Rafe tries to stop her from jumping to conclusions, but she does so anyways. And with a slip of the tongue, Rafe lets it out that he's not alone. He doesn't want her to explore it any further because he's afraid that if she gets to close they could be pulled back. He's afraid that if anyone suspects that there are angels there, they could take away their passes and they could disappear just like that. They wouldn't have 6 months, let alone 6 minutes together. Alison promises not to push anymore because she doesn't want to lose him any earlier than she has to.
Rafe
sneaks up on Alison and lifts her up into his arms. He tells her that he never
carried her over the threshold and an angel always keeps his promise. As they
head for the door, they are taken off guard by Lucy who has arrived with Christina.
Lucy sends Christina away and questions Rafe and Alison. She's not quite clear
on what is going on, and asks to speak to Rafe alone. Privately Lucy expresses
her concerns about Rafe dating a girl who is on the rebound. She asks him if
he's ever been in love before and Rafe confesses that he hasn't. Lucy tells
him that perhaps that is an indication that they should slow things down. But
Rafe remains adament and assures her that he knows what he's doing.

She gives her blessings, and is ecstatic to think that Rafe will be staying in Port Charles (remember Lucy doesn't know that Rafe's an angel). He says that he is still leaving and she is not pleased with that response. She chastizes him for falling in love with Alison, moving in with her and then have the odacity to leave without Alison in a few weeks. Rafe tells her that Ali is fully aware that he is leaving, and Lucy finds it difficult to understand what woman would open herself up like that only to (obviously) end up heartbroken in the end.

Rafe says that he would give anything to stay with her, but he can't. Alison says that there is a way he could leave part of him with her. Confused, Rafe asks how. By making a baby with her, Alison suggests.
Rafe
asks Alison to run that suggestion by him again, and Ali repeats her request.
She feels that since they were destined to meet and fall in love, they are destined
to share a child together. Rafe says that he understands her motivation and
it blows him away that she loves him that much but he doesn't feel that
it would be fair to the child to not know his/her father. He doesn't want to
have her take on that responsibility herself. Alison tells Rafe what she would
tell their child about him.
Alison: I would tell him that his father was the most amazing,
gentle, the kindest man I've ever known. And he was here for way too short of
a time and he's now up in Heaven.
She believes strongly that she was meant to keep that connection with Rafe and
that the most wonderful miracle (since meeting his father) would be having this
child. Alison tells him that she wants to make ALL of his dreams come true through
their child (having a home and a family). This is what they were meant to do.
Alison and Rafe talk about what their child would look like, and Ali says that
it would be apart of both of them. Rafe encourages her to think about it, but
Alison is adament. She seductively comes onto Rafe, and he succombs to her
advances. A flash of lightning strikes, and Rafe disappears as
Alison looks around in horror asking herself what she did.
