The Week of February 11

Alison and Rafe kiss, and with a nervous sigh from Rafe, they become quickly impassioned. Alison admits that she's hidden her feelings for him for so long, and each time she saw him she would just melt. Rafe admits that his feelings were too powerful and he can't remember a time when he wasn't loving her or not wanting her. He lays her down onto a red blanket, and to Jennifer Day's "Completely" they begin to make love.

Following a beautiful sequence, Rafe dubs Alison his "angel" and she calls the moment magical. Rafe corrects her and tells her its more than just magical, its real. The perfect episode ends with Alison admitting that everything was so wonderful but she feels confused. She doesn't understand why it tooks so long, and why she wouldn't allow herself to feel it even after reading Rafe's journal. He admits that he was never good at hiding his feelings. They agree, with a laugh, that the moment is glorious, wonderous and miraclous. Ali becomes teary eyed when she tells him that they need to make every single second of his time remaining count. While running her hands along his side, she notices his scare (you can actually see the scare during the love making scene if you look closely at Rafe's back). She asks about his death, but he remains mum about it. Alison says that she just wants him to feel alive, and Rafe tells her that no one else has made him feel so alive ever before.

Alison looks toward the heavens and says a prayer.
Alison: Excuse me? I know that you're really busy up there and all. But Rafe's time on Earth is almost running out and he's helped so many people- isn't it time that you helped him? Its not like I'm asking for any special favors or anything- no that's not true, I am sort of asking for a special favor. I mean I know that he can't stay forever but can't you just cut him a break. I mean what harm would be done if maybe you give him one summer. Like one perfect summer. You could call it a bonus for a job well done.

She admits her fears about Jamal, and Rafe who's been listening to her prayer tells her that he knows that Jamal is still very much on her mind. They discuss her feelings for Jamal and how he has a special part of her heart. He tells her he doesn't want her to feel guilty, but Alison says that she honestly feels like she's come back to life when she's with Rafe. It feels right and perfect. The subject of his time on Earth comes up again, and Alison says that they just need to make every minute count (unless of course she got through to his boss ;-) They continue to talk about their feelings for each other, and Alison says they need to concentrate on what they have right now because the time that they have is a gift.

They discuss what they would wish for, but Rafe comes up short on ideas, insisting that his only wish is to be with her. She rewords her question and asks for a special place he'd want to be. Rafe still insists that anywhere she is, is heaven for him. Eventually he caves and says he's thinking of a beach, but can't go any further in his fantasy. Alison takes over and describes the "beach" for them, eyes closed and laying back they let the fantasy envelop them

When Alison talks about how they'd have all the time in the world to just walk hand in hand on the beach, Ed appears (out of sight) on a bale of hay. He smiles at the two love birds curled up on the floor of the barn. While kissing, Alison pulls back and opens her eyes discovering that they are now on the beach by the ocean. Clad in bathing suits, with a picinic basket to boot. Rafe wonders if she actually has magic, but Alison says that she doesn't really know how it happened, but she knows that if she believes hard enough it can come true. As they revel in their love for one another (via kissing :) Ed sneaks out of the bushes and looks up and says "Yah, yah I know, I shouldn't have. Ha! I couldn't help myself. Happy Valentine's kids"

Ali and Rafe pause from their kissing, and recognize the miracle of being on the beach. Together they build a sand castle and Alison laughs at Rafe's inexperience at the art. She does, however, give him credence for his nacht at other things ;-) She asks him if he's ever wondered what life would be like if he'd lived, and he admits that he'd given up all Earth-dreams until he met her. Rafe confesses that he knows what it would feel like to have a family and a house and a life with Alison, and that he's living every dream that he's ever had. Within a sequence of PC couples kissing and admitting their love, Rafe tells Alison "I love you... I love you forever."

Rafe admits that this has been the best day in his entire life/eternity. Alison says that she thinks that this has all been apart of the plan. They had spent so much time helping others get together that maybe it was really meant for them to find each other again, and be together again. They dance to music, and are transported from their beach fantasy back to the barn where they continue to dance and kiss. :)
