The Week of April 8
April
8: Alison says that she feels so alone and Rebecca's voice whispers from
the portrait telling her that she's never been alone at all. The painting comes
alive and a stunned Alison thinks she's imagining things. All along she thought
it was her imagination, but Rebecca's real. Rebecca pulls Alison into a hug
and says that she missed her so much! But now she's back, she's finally back!
Alison can't believe her eyes and says that Rebecca has always been a sort of
childhood fantasy and she thought Rebecca came alive because of a childhood
loneliness. She wants to know how its possible that she can touch her now?!
Rebecca tells that it is because she had an open heart and mind and because
she believed. Alison joyfully says that Rebecca was her childhood and says she
doesn't know what she would have done without her. Rebecca admits that she was
so sad when Ali stopped visiting and Ali apologizes but Rebecca says that she's
glad she found her again. Alison says that Rafe was the one that taught her
to believe again and Rebecca smiles saying that he sounds extraordinary! Alison
sadly tells her that Rafe is gone, and she misses him so much. Rebecca can feel
her and Rafe's love all throughout the barn. She asks how she got from the attic
to the barn and Ali explains that Amanda had gotten angry that she was spending
so much time in the attic that she sent all of her things away. She was so happy
to find everything, like a miracle, in the barn. Rebecca asks if Amanda told
her why she didn't like her and Ali says that she was told that Rebecca was
a witch.
Rebecca
says that she was not a witch, she was a candle maker and nothing more. It was
a misconception carried through history. People thought she was a witch because
of the candles. Her candles had powerful sents that would encourage emotions.
They could only enhance what was in someone's heart. There was nothing sinister
about it. When something happens and the results they don't understand, they
end up calling it black magic. They needed someone to blame. Alison says that
she wished that Rebecca lived now, because so much has changed! Everyone pretty
much believes in the power of candles- its called aromatherapy. There are stores
where all they sell is candles and bath stuff. Alison says that she loves her
candles and thinks their beautiful and adores how each one has a unique word
etched on the bottom. She admits that she did notice that some of them weren't
so nice and Rebecca explains that when the townspeople got angry, she got mischievious.
The candles are only as powerful as people allow them to be. If one's heart
is pure, then they can only do good. Alison asks what if people's hearts aren't
pure? Rebecca says that the candles then will help them see the light.
Alison
shows Rebecca the box of candles that are still around and says that they are
still working their magic and smell wonderful! She says that she gave the comfort
candle to a man she knows that lost his wife and he told her that it was helping.
She also admits to lighting the love one for herself and she thinks it works
because it felt like she could feel him. Rebecca tells her that it can only
enhance what is in her heart. Alison has a great gift to make the impossible,
possible. She really loves Rafe, he's the best thing that's ever happened to
her. The door to the barn opens and its Jamal.

April 9: Alison declares that she would do anything to be closer to Rafe because he is the very best thing that has happened to her. Jamal comes up and asks who she is talking to- it looked like she was talking to the painting. Its as though she expected the painting to talk back to her... did she? Alison denies having talked to the painting, she was talking to herself. Jamal tells her she has friends she can talk to, but Ali says that she really just wants to be by herself. Jamal says that they are just worried about her and that she is trying to deal with the past in a way to avoid what is going on right now. First there was the problems with him, then there was Rafe. Alison asks him not to talk about Rafe, he doesn't know him. Jamal says that Rafe bailed on her- why can't she just admit that? Ali says that that's not what happened and Jamal demands to know why the guy came to town and planted a few stars in her eyes and then up and left her. He cares about her whether she likes it or not. Ali just wants to be by herself. Jamal tells her its not healthy and what Rafe did to her is messed up! Alison wants to know if what he's trying to get at is that he wants her back! Jamal asks if that's such a bad thing?
Alison
admits that what she and Jamal had was really special, but Rafe... Jamal says
that he doesn't want to hear about Rafe and he wishes that he hadn't stepped
into town! Jamal wishes that Ali would just forget about Rafe. Fine, he wants
her back and he knows she doesn't want to hear that right now. He can't accept,
though, that she's locking herself away for that "wimpy jerk". He's
really worried about her. She wants to know what is so wrong about being in
a place that means something to her around things that are important to her
as well? Rebecca is not a witch! Jamal says that all of Port Charles history
thinks that she is, she murdered a minister in cold blood and cursed the whole
town. Alison will hear nothing of it. Her and Rebecca never talked about any
of that! Stunned, Jamal asks what she is saying- does she really think that
the painting talks to her?

Does she really believe that Rebecca talks to her? Alison wants to know what would he think if she told him that Rebecca really does talk to her and told her the whole story. Jamal says that she needs help if that's really what she thinks. Alison says that she's fine and Jamal wants to go some place else to talk. But she's comfortable there. He wants to know what is so special about the barn- is it special for her and Rafe. She confesses that it is and Jamal does not think its healthy. Alison defiantly says that she just wants to stay there and asks him to leave. He says he'll go, but he's not bailing on her. He'll be there for her if she needs him. Alone in the barn, she goes toward the carving in the post and whispers Rafe's name. Everything is falling apart and no one understands. Rebecca reappears with her hand over Alison's, and says that she understands and can bring Rafe back to her. Alison sadly says that Rebecca had told her she couldn't do that before. Rebecca wants to help he because Ali is in so much pain.
April
10: Rebecca says that she knows what Ali is going through and that it hurts.
If she lights the candle Rafe will come to her. As long as she believes that
Rebecca can help her, it will be done. Alison asks how she can trust her when
she just found out that she murdered someone! She wants the truth or she might
as well go back to where she came from. Rebecca says that the truth is that
she was hanged for murder. There was no actual evidence that she had murdered
anyone because of her candles and they were convinced she was a witch. All of
her candles worked and those who opened their heats to share love, they found
it. They didn't understand the candles, especially only those that had heard
of their powers. Alison asks who killed the minister and Rebecca says that she
helped to fake his death so he could be with his true love. They left the bloody
clothes in the woods so people would think he was attacked by animals. It was
better than having people believe that a minister of God had run off with his
lover. She says that she only made candles and could never have put a curse
on a town, but they believed her. All she ever wanted was for Alison to be happy
and seeing Rafe would make her happy. She could make Rafe appear by believing
just like she made her appear. Ali is doubtful, and is nervous about doing.
Rebecca says that the last thing she wants is for Ali to be scared of her. The
candle is there for her use, if she wants to use it, its hers. Rebecca returns
into the painting.

Alison stares at the painting saying that she wants to believe Rebecca and that she can bring Rafe back to her. She remembers Rafe looking at the first candle they found and figures that Rafe would have told her if there was something wrong with it. To the painting, she whispers that she does believe. Alison kneels down toward the candle, ready to light it. The door creaks and she gasps, thinking its Rafe.
April
11: Alison pleads for Rafe to come back to her and goes to light the candle.
The barn door opens and she thinks its Rafe, only its Lucy. Lucy notices the
painting and a look of recognition passes over her face. Alison introduces Lucy
to Rebecca and admits that Lucy was probably thinking of Paige when she saw
it, she gueses they resemble each other or something. Lucy admits that she got
the feeling that Ali was expecting someone else and Ali admits that she thought
it was Rafe. Lucy apologizes for her cousin and Ali asks that they not talk
about him. She tells Alison that she's heard things about the candles and that
they are unique. In conversation it comes out that Alison was the one that had
given Ian the candle and Lucy says that the candles didn't just "sort of"
help Ian, they are extraordinary! They laugh that a mighty Barrington turns
out to be a simple candle maker. Lucy admits that the painting is very lifelike
and looks like it could step out any minute. She asks if she could try out one
of the candles and Ali takes out a yellow one. Lucy wants to try it out. As
Ali lights it she asks her to tell her what she feels after she smells it. Lucy
says that she feels warm and Alison tells her its the candle of warmth. Alison
has a gold mine on her hands!
Lucy
has an enterprising idea! Its magic and she needs to share it to the world!
Alison says she might find one or two recipes, but what is Lucy suggesting?
Lucy offers to be a silent partner, to back her in the opening of a candle shop.
Alison begins to warm up to the idea and Lucy suggests the barn as a place to
house the shop. Its a good idea, Ali admits, but its not her barn. Details!
Details! Lucy will have someone make the owner a bargain they can't refuse!
Everyone in Port Charles will want one of Rebecca's candles. Ali thanks Lucy
for understanding her when everyone else thinks she's off her rocker. She notices
the pink candle and asks what that one is for. Alison explains that its for
love and she was going to light it for Rafe. Lucy makes her promise to call
her, because she needs to work on their capital venture. With Lucy gone, Ali
lights the candle and wishes for Rafe to return to her. Ali lies down to sleep
with the candle burning. The door to the barn opens and Rafe walks in (whoa!
Hold the phone!)- he's very real, btw.

A sleeping Livvie has a dream where Alison is behind a row of candles. She begs Livvie to help her, the candles are too powerful- she needs her help! Livvie tries to help, but the flames rise with each time she approaches. Livvie wakes up in a sweat, realizing it was just a bad dream. As she stares at the flames in the fireplace she sees Alison's face begging for help.
April
12: Rafe creeps next to a sleeping Alison, and she stirs from her sleep.
She is stunned and asks him if he's come with his magic to make all of her dreams
come true. He says it doesn't matter how, as long as they are together. She
hugs him and finally believes that he is real. She is extatic and says that
it feels like a thousand years has gone by. He says that all he dreams about
is her. He asks what her heart is telling her and she says it saying to love
him, and never let go. He says that she'd better listen to it, and they start
to kiss. As they cuddle on the floor of the barn (Rafe's lost his shirt :) She
tells him that its the first time she's felt complete since he's left. He pulls
out of the air a pink and white rose and Ali says, giddy, that he's got his
magic back! She's so happy, she wants to dance. They start to dance (she remarks
that he's very tall) and he lifts and dips her. She laughs and tells him not
to let her go.
A
sleeping Ali whispers outloud the same thing and wakes up and realizes it was
a dream. She begs Rafe to make it real for her. She sighs and sadly puts her
head down. Ali stands up and looks around
the barn for some evidence that Rafe had been there. She goes outside, and there's
nothing. She returns inside and asks the painting what happened- was she dreaming?
It felt so real! She can still feel the tiny hairs on the back of his neck.
It was just a dream wasn't it. Next to the candle lies the rose and she realizes
that he was real and that he was there! (Is it Rebecca's magic or did Rafe come
via his own accord?)
