Sunday, July 4th, 1999  Independence Day

1315 America's Coffee  3rd Ave & E 21st

Central parkNear(ing)  East Village...hoping to fins some hint of the club scene...i.e. find a club...I doubt I'll be going inside one tonight though...it was a tough decision to even stay for the fireworks.  I'm feeling drained -- the heat/humidity coupled w/ my lacking sleeping quarters & shower facilities...I'm leaving tonight -- soon as I can get on the subway & to Kacy, im outta...I want my bed, a shower, my internet, and a bit of relaxation b4 work Tuesday.  I've gone through over $200 already on this trip -- much more than I planned, but then, I haven't regretted it either.  Miss Saigon on Broadway, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The S.R. Guggenheim,  Empire State Building, Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty...and that's just the stuff I payed for, so much else that was free.  It's been an outstanding wknd, and so what if my feet hurt...I've seen most of Manhattan, the parts that drew me anyway.  I styaed out of Harlem et. all the northern parts & the financial district/Tribecca, etc (the southern parts)...I Statue of LIbertynever even crossed the bridge to the Bronx, and I passed out at the South Park movie only 20 minutes into it...I think Houlihans had something to do w/ that...hmmm maybe?  Booze coupled with scant quantites of meager sleep... I downed a Cape Cod for a friend and much other liquor there.  Nice chain bar/resteraunt.

Visited Grand Central Station -- magnificent structure, the lobby is simply beautiful.  Rockefeller Plaza,  Radio City Music Hall,  Madison Square Garden.  Kacy hasn't moved since yesterday at 6AM.  She really digs the Guggenheim I suppose...

Sitting on my bum at 7th & W 24th...two big heavy books I picked up at "The Strand" cheap weigh my hands...At least its a strudy plastic bag w/ handles...

East Village -- hodge podge of NY living & tiny indie stores -- picked up some Tori (for damn cheap_ tapes at this messy little hole in the wall.  Picked up ftch at the Manhattan Mall.  Now the quest goes in search of Hammerstein -- a ballroom at the Manhattan center...only I'm unsure exactly where.  My guess is near the "Manhattan" Bldg?

After a while,  I got lucky and spotted it on the map...

Death of a Salesman isn't playing again until July 6th I learned this morning...I missed my chance even last week.  Que sera sera.
