Mt. Scott

Mt. Scott

Standing above the scenic wonder of Crater Lake National Park, Mt. Scott tops out on a partially eroded volcanic cone at 8,926 feet. Besides the spectacular view of Crater Lake, this area offers winter nordic skiing and camping unique from any other alpine destination.

During late spring to early fall take the rim road that circles Crater Lake to the east side of the lake to the trail head that ascends about 1,300 feet to an historic lookout tower on Mt. Scott's summit. During the winter getting to this area is a nordic feat in itself, but no matter what time of the year you visit this area, the view of the lake and the surrounding Cascades is magnificent.
