Most people think being an op is the most fun one can have on IRC. But being an op is not only a privilege, it is a responsibility too. The ops have to maintain and safeguard the channel and make sure it grows in the right direction. This burden grows heavier and heavier as the channel grows larger and larger. Channels like #Teens and #India are really large and difficult to manage. If you really want to be an op on #Mahajanas then read on.
Requirements
1. The first requirement for becoming an op is that you have to be a student of Mahajanas college and also an personal friend/acquaintance of the Founder or Sops. Friends of the founder will get ops right away and friends of Sops will get oped upon recommendation all the Sops on a majority basis.
2. The candidate must be well versed in the IRC (ChanServ, NickServ and MemoServ) commands. An op might have to face a test to prove his/her command skills before being oped. The testing is left to the Founder's discretion alone. Failure in tests does not mean a denial of ops, it merely means that the candidate has to appear for another test later, passing which he/she will be oped.
3. The candidate must be a regular chatter on #Mahajanas. Irregular chatters will NOT get ops and irregular ops WILL BE DE-OPED. Any grievances about giving and taking ops may be discussed with the Founder/Sops on the admin channel #MahaOps.
4. Mishbehavior or very explicit language on mains will NOT be tolerated. This, again, is left to the Founder/SOp's discretion. Any person found violating chan policies will be deoped or banned from the channel.
