26: The L'Arc~en~Ciel official site finally released the set list of the band's upcoming Shibuya Seven days 2003 LIVE DVD, "7." The tracks include: Fare Well, Caress of Venus, HEAVEN'S DRIVE, flower, get out from the shell, Lies and Truth, Driver's High, Blurry Eyes, STAY AWAY, Niji, trick, DIVE TO BLUE, and Anata.

Hyde's upcoming album finally has a title: "666." The first press versions will have video clips of "Horizon" and "Hello."

I just want to mention a couple of things. First, the Matchbox Twenty live was awesome. My favorite performances were "Bright Lights," "Mad Season," and the band's cover of Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)," which Rob Thomas dedicated to the people who "grew up in the '80s." That was so cool of him, and what a wonderful performance! Excellent choice for a cover! The opening act, Fountains of Wayne (of "Stacy's Mom" fame), were also superb. All in all a great show. I can't wait for the Strokes concert now, although their opening acts may be more dubious.

The mention of Matchbox Twenty bring me to my second point, regarding the number one rock band in Japan, GLAY. I always liken the former to the latter. And of course Matchbox Twenty would sneak in a Beatles melody, while Takuro's infatuation with and influence by Beatles frontman, John Lennon, is notorious. Admittedly, one way I keep up-to-date with JROCK is through lurking among GLAY fans. They're usually sensible (of course, what else could one expect from a sensible band?). GLAY have recently released a new single (their 100th, maybe?), and unsurprisingly it's the latest topic among their fans. It occurred to me that if L'Arc~en~Ciel needed any reason to revive themselves, GLAY would be that reason. I envy the GLAY fans!

08: Ken's solo band, S.O.A.P., will give a recital to commemorate the release of their third mini album. The tour title is "BUBBLE FESTiVAL [A Winter-Shogun 2004]" with 12 venues and 13 concerts nationwide. They are also having a gig in Shanghai on November 9. They are offering a package tour to go to Shanghai to see their show and dine with the band. For more information, please visit the S.O.A.P. official site.

I find it interesting that S.O.A.P. are attempting to hold a live overseas, albeit appealing to their Japanese fans to join them. Wouldn't it be better if L'Arc~en~Ciel held their own gig overseas? I believe Hyde once expressed an interest in performing at Madison Square Garden. But I seriously doubt the possibility. Anyhow, yesterday I got my Strokes concert ticket for their upcoming gig at MSG. Yay! I saw them twice before last year, and I promised myself I'd watch them if they ever performed at the Garden, and here's my chance! So I'm going to two shows at the Garden this month.

05: Changed the index movie.

03: Happy Birthday, Tetsu! Recommended music on this great day: Depeche Mode.
