Chapter Three
Back at Puas house Bobbi had decided to stay another night, so while they both watch movies and played video gamesagain, she tended her friend. Getting up for her when she needed something, grabbing an extra pillow now and then was no problem for her. She felt she owed it to Pua seeing as how she had gotten hurt while teaching her how to body board. The lacerations on her back were so bad that Pua had to walk around the house with out a shirt. It wasnt very comfortable, but it was better then having a t-shirt rubbing against her wounds.
Some time around 8 oclock the doorbell rang. Pua motioned to get up but Bobbi beat her to the punch.

You sit your ass back down, she threatened jokingly. She opened the door and the smile she had for Pua widened a foot.

Hey, she said. Apolo seemed a little downtrodden.

Hey, he said. Pua i
s here right? Bobbi noticed that he had one hand behind his back.

Yeah, yeah shes here. Ill go get her, just wait here for a sec ok?

Ok. His hand shifted again, and a bit of red made itself known behind his back.

Bobbi walked back into the living room where Pua was.

Pua? she paused Pua, Apolos here, he wants to see you.

What? Oh shit! I need shirt! she halted briefly. Let him in, and Ill go put one on.

Pua left and less than a minute later came out sporting a green T&C t-shirt. Apolo was standing in front of the
couch talking to Bobbi about their excursions earlier in the day. He noticed her as soon as she walked into the room.

Acting shy and insure of himself, Apolo closed the distance between them. Bobbis eyes widened as she saw what he had behind his back. He stood before Pua for just a moment before pulling out a dozen red roses and an apology to go with it.

I felt really bad because of what happened today. You
were really brave while I dumped that alcohol on your
back.

Pua smiled. Thank you! she cried.

Apolo stayed there at the house for about an hour chatting and laughing with the two of them and then suddenly got up.

Im so sorry, he said as he took Puas hand in his, but I have to go now. Bobbi smiled behind his back at this simple gesture of affection. It was obvious that something was happening here. The only thing was, did either of them realize it? They had better Bobbi thought cause Im not really that great at matchmaking.

Both the girls walked Apolo to the door as he bid them his farewells. He hugged Bobbie, kissed Pua on the hand, then left.

Ohmigod! Pua cried as she leaned up against the door, careful not to press her back against it.

Uh huh.
And he gave you flowers, Bobbie pointed out.
Pua looked up. He gave me the flowers cause he felt bad about what happened to me today. She walked into the kitchen to put the topic of conversation in some water.

Are you sure? Bobbie said as she leaned up against the doorway to the kitchen.

Yes why? Pua turned around. Oh, please, dont tell me you think that he likes me. She waited. Bobbi didnt
answer. She tried again You do think that dont you?

Yes I do.

Well he doesnt, Pua snapped.

Bobbi rolled her eyes. She sighed. Are you
that blind?!

Look, Pua waited. It was an awkward moment for the both of them. He is one of the best speed-skaters in the world. He has women literally throwing themselves at him
beautiful women. Why would he choose me over them? Im not even pretty!

So? Bobbi said. Looks dont
always matter, and you are pretty. For Gods sakes, Pua, open your eyes and look at yourself!

Pua shook her head. No. Im not. I know Im not, so dont even try to convince me that I am. And dont try to tell me that he has a 'thing' for me. I cant be convinced. She stomped out of the kitchen, and into the loving room. Dropping into the couch with a sigh she acted as if she was watching a movie on TV. It was one of those old Spaghetti westerns that were made in Italy. The plot line was overworked but she didnt care, she wasnt really watching it anyway.

Bobbi came over and sat down next to her. She felt badly for her friend. Every guy Pua ever loved ended up rejecting her. She had always had bad luck at dating. Even when Pua would meet a guy, she would make her self believe that she couldnt get him and end up rejecting
him and herself in the process
