�What? My break dancing?�
�Yeah we just were remembering seeing you on TRL�break dancing.�
�Ok�. I�m still not following you here.�
Bobbi spoke up. We were both thinking about it at the same time without realizing it.�
Apolo threw his head back and laughed. �Are you serious?�
�Yeah, yeah we know it�s stupid.�
�Well, no. In fact I�m flattered that you would actually use up your thoughts on me.�
Pua laughed.
By now they were almost to Sherwood�s. Pua had explained the basics of body boarding as best she could before getting there so that Bobbie and Apolo would a little easier time of it. When it came down to actually getting Bobbi out far enough to catch a wave, that�s where Pua had most of her trouble. She had to pull her aside and ask her what Apolo would think about her if she was afraid to go out into the water. That did it. Bobbi never said a word about it the rest of the day.
Through crashes and burns they still had a great time. That was until Pua caught an especially nasty wave and crashed so badly that her back was red with blood. It wasn�t until later when she came in to take a break that Bobbi noticed it and freaked out. Pua hadn�t noticed the pain at all. So for her it was a surprise when Bobbi dragged her into the nearby public bathroom to show her the damage.
Bobbi tried to clean the rubbish out of her back, and did a relatively good job of it, but not with out an extreme amount of pain to Pua. They walked out of the bathroom, and Apolo was there, waiting for them with a first aid kit in his hand.
�I found it in your car. Good thinking to keep one in there.� He smiled grimly. �Pua, if you sit down, I can clean that properly, I had to learn how to do this sort of thing cause of speed skating and all.�
Apolo pulled out a bottle of alcohol and grimaced, �I�ve had some nasty crashes so far but this takes the cake."
Apolo cleaned Pua�s back as gently as possible, but inwardly Pua was screaming.
�Are you ok?� Apolo asked concerned.
�I�m fine.� She flinched as he touched the alcohol to her back again.
Apolo finished, but felt like he had subjected Pua to some sort of torture. He had seen the way she recoiled every time he touched her back. It hurt him to know that he had hurt her, even though it had to be done, he still felt awful.
Pua let Apolo drive on the way back while she sat in the passenger seat with everyone�s extra clothes behind her back. Bobbi sat in back feeling sorry for her friend. Apolo had given Pua his shirt to use, so the whole return trip he had driven bare chested.
After many directions from Pua and even more wrong turns by Apolo they reached the Royal Hawaiian. He got out, and Pua handed him his shirt as Bobbi stepped out, walked around the car and got into the drivers seat. Apolo leaned into the back and whispered something to Pua. She wasn�t sure but Bobbi thought she heard him say something like �You get better now, cause I still have to teach you how to ice skate.�
