Easter is an annual Christian festival in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, observed on the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs on or next after 21 March (the Equinox). Source: The Macquarie Dictionary
The Easter holiday in 2002 begins with Good Friday on 29 March and ends with Easter Monday on 1 April.
The word "Easter" is derived from Eos, the Greek goddess of the Dawn. She is also responsible for our "Eastern".
