Happy Solstice!

...and welcome to the world of Rachel Zurvas.

Until recently, I worked in a financial planning practice and among my many interests are money, words and China (though not always in that order).    
 

Solstice: n. Either of the two times in the year when the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator and apparently does not move either north or south about 21 June when it enters the sign of Cancer, and about 22 December, when it enters the sign of Capricorn. Here in the Southern Hemisphere, we're about to experience the Winter Solstice and then the days will start to get longer again...
