Dear Madam/Sirs,

I regret that I am writing this letter in regards to your abuse on Hasthir Kanya.

For your information, I used to attend Assam Day meetings that you had organized, prior to the start of Assam Day events. Sometimes I was present even before the beginning of the meetings and certainly I used to seat back after the end of the meetings.

All I was wishing initially was to add a clip from Hasthir Kanya for the demo during your organized Assam Day, but I regret that you have abused Hasthir Kanya demonstrating your Kamrupi hate.

I would also like you to know that although I did not spell out before it had bled my mind instantly the first time I saw the two beheaded doles dressed female one looked pregnant, had been guarding the model of Assam and Northeast - I felt custom of Assam and Northeast was beheaded.

Two beheaded doles dressed female one looks pregnant are seen guarding the model of Assam & Northeast at ICC Milpitas, California, U.S.A. on Assam Day in April 18, 2004.

On March 30, at ICC, Monalisa did not answer my inquiry on - why she did not bother to communicate in regards to Hasthir Kanya, - but while Jugma responded for her I heard him raising his rate of vocal cord vibration.

  • What is it that made you all to develop such hate and disgust against Hasthir Kanya and me?
  • Is it something to do with my Kamrupi background, i.e., me not being a Jokaisukiya?
I apologize for any inconvenience that I caused with my repeated attempt to include a clip from Hasthir Kanya for a demo during your organized Assam Day.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rabin Deka

Subject: Assam Month - Material for posters

Please use Sanskrit style for all Vaishnava names that may appear in any flyers/posters etc. sutch as satra. Also guranjana is called sankaradeva. Vaishnava names use Sanskrit styles in Roman writing first created during 1780s in Barpeta and Madhupur.

Especially, Vaishnava faith believers call them Vaishnava only i.e., not Hindu and we do not have this word Hindu in any Vaishnava scriptures, including Sanskrit. Hoping you do not add this tag to Vaishnava if you plan outlining the Vaishnava philosophy, ...

Kind regards
Rabin Deka

We are having fun creating posters for the Assam month. Some of you have provided great photos from your personal collection. Thank you. Presently, we have material from Kaziranga, Xiboxagar, Tea estates, Hajo, Rukmini beach, festivals like Magh Bihu and Durga Puja, dances like Ojhapali, Xatriya, Deodhani etc. However, we are still missing some key items in reasonably high resolution format. The list is as follows:
  1. Majuli Island - naamghar, xatras, xinghaxon etc.
  2. ... ... ... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jonaki/message/830
