Our unBelizeable vacation to Ambergris Caye, Belize
Central America
July 3-10, 2004
Doesn't this picture just scream "Welcome to Belize"? This is a picture on the way back to the hotel from town of the beach and Carribbean Sea.
This is BC's bar and grill.  Home of the famous Sunday BBQ for $25BZE you get chicken, italian and polish sausage, ribs, beans, and coleslaw.  They have pretty good rum punch too!
Here is Wyler and I at BC's for the Sunday BBQ.
Here is Front Street, (aka Barrier Reef Drive) in San Pedro.  It was 1.5 mile walk into town one way from where we stayed.  We walked it almost every single day.  A lot of people rent golf carts and drive them around the island like crazy.  The streets are dirt, but this is one neat town.
See the John Deere tractor in this picture?  That is the Belikin Beer Man pulling a trailer with crates of Belikin Beer (the local beer in Belize).  This is walking back to our Hotel.
On the right is San Pedro's Middle Street after a few hours of rain. One muddy mess!!
They have amazing wood carvings in Ambergris Caye.  I wanted a wood bowl so bad.  I just didn't want to pay $40BZE ($20USD) for one.  This one stands on the beach.  Great mermaid!
Here is Wyler waiting to go home with a Lighthouse Beer in hand.  See the walking stick across his lap?  That was his souvenier from our river trip!
