again... ad space !!!

     Could it be an update? OMG !!! Some stuff has happened over the last month and a half so here I go, starting by the least important as usual. I tried rejoining the 1v1 ladders lately but I sorta fucked up my first match. There is such a thing as practicing too hard and showing for an official match when you're dead tired is NOT a good idea. At the 10 minute point of the 1st match I was losing 25 to 1 to one ////n0rb and there was no point in me trying to play as I was getting fragged faster by the minute. n0rb owned me like no one has owned me before. Will I do ladder matches again? Maybe. Just gotta go for the fun of it and not take it too seriously. I will train for Instagib tho. I'm doing good on CT's fast-rail/grapple Insta server but slow-rail/no-grapple is QUITE different. My aim is getting alright tho; just gotta concentrate on not concentrating too much :)

     Next up, last weekend (March 9-10) was Clan CoD's Get Together in Montreal Qc, so of course I attended! GGz to Hunter:Zero, Kaustic, ChronoTrigger, Wowbagger, Night, and of course Locke who organized the whole thing. Not so GGz to the Montreal and Ottawa guys who could have been there but decided otherwise. You will pay up in frags, BOYS. I will get around to the screenshot page and include some excerpts from some totally sick fragging. If I have Wow's pics I may even make a full page :)

     And the grand news, Nancy has purchased her condo and she and I are in the process of shopping for the various appliances/furniture/house stuff. Might as well go all brand new :) DId I ever say I love Nancy? Just in case: JE T'AIME NANCY !!!! :D

     Some changes have happened in Clan Kill Em All over the last few days. W1CK3D retired from the post of Q3 General, to be replaced by yours truly, and DeathAngel got promoted to Bery team Captain. W1CK took some time off to set things straight in his life and for that he must be praised. The reconstruction of the team is still on-going but we're seeing some results; expect a huge bang on the Clan Arena scene sometime soon >:) Another mod that's seeing some action is OSP Insta-TDM over in =FoC= land. There's a nice example of that in the form of a demo in the Screenshots section.

     One year and still going :) The Hollidays have made it harder to play seriously but there still were some nice games here and there. The big news of the year's end of course was the release of version 1.31; let's face it, there will never be a final version of Quake and I have the bad feeling that because of this popularity will wane faster than it already has. I'm still a Quaker at heart but I am damn sick of version this, mod version that. I love your game John, but everytime you "fix it" the community gets even more split up. Oh well, you'll still drive your Ferraris (bast4ge) !!!

     As a result of this I will probably trim down the server monitor pages to keep only my most visited servers. BTW, if you haven't tried The All-Seeing Eye server browser you haven't lived. GS was the first, GSA has chat and voice-chat and supports tons of games, but ASE is small, tightly wound, has chat and buddy lists, and NO FREAKIN' ADS !!! I keep telling you, get it now :)

   After talking about it for what seems like an eternity, I have finally managed to upgrade my tired computer with some 21st century technology. Gone is the 300mhz; it still works good but I'll keep it for an eventual 2nd boxen (probably as a testbed for my beginnings in Linux... scary huh?). Now I'm rockin' with a Duron 1ghz so my GeForce2MX can finally be pushed the way it should be. Not only does Q3 run like Hell (me still keeping the fugly graphics >:) but other games shine like they never have before. So far I've seen Star Wars Racer and Need for Speed: Porsche and I left a nice puddle of saliva on the floor! Still to come are Mechwarrior 3, Xwing Alliance, and WWII Fighters. And of course soon I'll be getting Return to Castle Wolfenstein; I asked it for Xmas in my girlfriend's family's gift exchange but I rethought the whole thing and told the whole family that whoever picked me, do not buy me RTCW cuz there's no way I'll hold till Xmas !!! :) Can't wait to see this game.

     Speaking of my girlfriend, I can't tell in words how much I love her. La seule facon que j'ai trouve pour te le dire mon amour, c'est YOU ROCK !!! 8) This weekend as been awesome so far and I don't want it to end... Je t'aime xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

     OMFG! What an adventure and a half !!! A lot has happened in a very short time so here I go. CTCon2k++ was all it was cracked up to be, and THEN SOME! It was definitely worth it to rough it for 15 hours on the road (one way) to meet all the great people who make the game of Quake III Arena so fabulous. Unbelievable amounts of thanks go to T'krin and Nuskewl, for receiving me in Cleveland and generally being the nicest people in the universe, miMar, for helping me out with some quality hardware, antiquated as it may be. The next upgrade I do will be a cinch with everything I learned with this experience! Thanks also to Clan NMP for putting together this great weekend of fun and gibs. Special thanks go to EzKilla for making Max & Erma's the funnest supper I've had in a long time !!! Thanks to all the quality players who showed up: Benefactor, Vlad, Jericho, Guardian, Wakjob, Alex P. Keaton, Jack Burton, Paradox3, Keno25, Speedy, Twiztid, Solidsnake, Duncan, Dovey, Fenix and Haro. Muchos Gracias to Solidsnake who met up with me in Downtown Toronto to help me kill time... gg T.O. traffic !!!

     Now for the nasty part. I blew my Celeron 400 on miMar's P2B-DS board so I was stuck 'puterless for close to a month. A buddy of mine had a spare P2-300 and now I can safely use the board. And a nice gob of RAM also helps. Thanks Psychosys :) So now that I can run Q3 smoothly (yes even on a 300) I will be hitting the servers and trying to build back my Skillz cuz I haven't used them in so long. At least I can still beat the crap out of Hardcore bots !!! :)

     To end on a good note... what am I saying good note, GREAT NOTE! At the end of what is now known as the worst week in history I became a lot closer to a co-worker of mine. So close that we are now a couple, and it looks like this one will last even though our relationship is still in its infancy. Her name is Nancy and she's the greatest thing that's ever happened to me so far. Nancy mon amour, tu es la lumiere au bout de mon long tunnel. Je t'adore et j'ai deja tres hate d'etre a tes cotes :) xoxoxoxox

    WOW! Over a month without an update. I think I may be getting lazy :) To start where I left off, the 1v1 ladder matches weren't all they were cracked up to be for a few reasons. My first opponent, Midi Six, forfeited the match, and before I could challenge someone else some other guy, [SS]Ruckus, challenged me. And proceded to kick the krap out of me. I could complain about the computer problems I was having (this was before I removed the second hard drive; long story) but I think I was too distracted by too many things and wasn't quite into Quaking mode, therefore I got whipped pretty bad. Oh well, I'll come back into the ladder after CTCon2k++ with a stronger machine >:)

    Speaking of CTCon2k++, this fabulous event will be happening less than 2 weeks from now. If all goes well, I'll be bringing my buddy's digital camera (gotta call Jeremy tomorrow about it :) so I'll have plenty of material to revamp the screenies page. Now if you want to know why I don't update the site more often it's pretty simple. We've been having one Hell of a summer with a massive heat wave that just ended yesterday. Heat wave + weak 'puter = bad computer experience. I'm not Quaking as much as I would like simply because this shitbox is on it's last miles as it is and I'll have to do some part swapping after I get back from Ohio. Till then I'll practice as much as I can, and will also play some Q1/Q2 just to be sure I'm in full Quake mode when I head south of the border.

    On a non-Quake related subject, my sister Isabelle will be giving birth to my first nephew, but this will make me an uncle for a FOURTH TIME !!! Lache-pas ma soeurette :D

Ah! Relaxing after the moving season :) I'm finally comfy in my new appartment and the cable is sweeeet !!! During the period between the last update and now a lot of things have happened. id Software released version 1.29f of Q3A and not a lot of people are happy about it. I hope id comes out with a final version soon so we can stop the patching frenzy and they can be free to work on, oh, Doom3 maybe ?!?! I've made the changes I needed on the site, mostly because of the ISP switch. I also need to fix the mess with the servers cuz now 1.27 and 1.29 are all mixed up; I have to switch my Q3plug back and forth everytime and checking what version the server is playing is MANDATORY !!!

On the funner side of things we've been having a ball lately in KEA cuz the skill just continues to grow. Any clan out there who wants to scrim? :) Seriously, I love the team i'm in right now. You guys just ROCK !!! And on the personal side, I've received my first challenge on the Proving Grounds 1v1 Deathmatch ladder. The challenger (named Midi Six, who I don't know) has yet to acknowledge my acceptance of his challenge, but I have chosen the first map (Dismemberment, hub3tourney1) and the tie-breaking map (Blood Run, ztn3tourney1). He has to choose his map which will be the second game. I will keep a record on what I do on PG here. I hope the guy remembers to log on to see my response and not forfeit the match... I want BLOOD !!!!!

Hello Quakers !!! It seems I only get to work on my site when I'm sick at home. Oh well, such is life! First things first, I added Storm and Thor's Railsonly family of servers to my monitors. You will find them in their respective categories, which is DM, CTF and 1v1. Be sure to pay a visit to their site. On another bit of news, I've registered the KEA Beryllium team on the Proving Grounds ladder site. I hope all the other clans I play with/against will do the same so we can have some nice competition :) I haven't yet worked on more screenshots but I'm collecting a shitload of demos so I'll have to do something before I drown in backlog. And last is an important bit of news. In a few weeks I will change ISPs so some things might not work on the site (ie: everything stored on Sympatico). With the move I'll get less web space so I won't be able to post as many demos. I'll still record them so if you want some all you have to do is ask me :) Oh, the new ISP will be Videotron which is ...*drumroll*...CABLE !!! The next update should be after my move. C ya soon !!!

Hey! I found a bit of time to work on my site :) I took off some servers that had died; I have yet too look for new ones but I still have enough servers to satisfy my Quaking urges. On the same note, I added T'krin & miMar's -=MoR=- servers back were they belong on the Chaos Theory servers page. They've got 4 now including two Instagib CTF servers, one with default rail speed and the other with fast rail (mmmm, fast rail !!!). Be sure to go check it out! I've also started the tedious work of adding screenshots, with thumbnails this time so modem users won't scream in agony (too much); if there's a lot of thumbnails it might get slow, but 10k a shot is better than 80k :) Something else I've got planned is a mini ladder for the KEA Beryllium team. It looks like we'll start practicing in 2v2 teams so that should be a ball! I have to work out a simple system using my client logfiles and end-game screenshots but it should be doable and fun. Also, the -=MoR=- guys mentioned something about beating on some KEA guys... LMFAO !!!!!

OK, I've started working on fixing the screenshots page so it's more HPB friendly. It's a perfect time to add new pics, and killer ones taken from demos, thanks to Geekplay (available here). The KEA RA3 demo is also gone since it wasn't compatible with the mod anymore. I did something for you guys though: I put all my OSP client files in a zip and uploaded it to my Sympatico FTP. No more getting stuck not knowing what files to get from OSP, I've done it for you. This ain't the server files tho; it's CLIENT ONLY! You will be able to connect to versions 99q, 99r, 99s, 99s1, 99s2 and 99t. I will also add links to the various mods on the server front page.

My connection to CT is back to normal, so I can rail people again! Also new on CT is a CPMA server, with votable gametypes (FFA, 1v1, TDM, CTF and CA). The CPMA mod is available at www.promode.org. But here's the best news: The KEA High Command has deemed W1CK3D and myself worthy of promotions. W1CK3D is now a KEA Q3 General, and I'm taking his place as the Beryllium Team Captain! W1CK will still be part of the Bery team but I will be handling the team's recruiting and the team's upcoming events (scrims, ladders, etc.). This should be quite an experience for both of us. Now let's get our schnoutte together so can indeed KILL 'EM ALL !!!!  }:o)

Quebec's spring sucks, I still have pains from the winter guard comp (power amps and speakers are NOT light) so I'm home. So I took the opportunity to fix a few things with my server collection. Some had changed, some had died, etc. So first I made sure all the RA3 servers were up to date (v1.5), found 2 CPMA servers, moved an RA3 server that had become TDM to it's rightful place (it still pings great for me :) and added some 1v1 Instagib servers. That should be fun! :) As always if there's something you would like to see on the site, drop me a mail or post in my forum !!!

T'krin and miMar lost their internet connection so their servers are down for an indeterminated time. Also, I'm hating nyc.alter.net; it's one of the hops in my connection to CT and it's destroying my ping there. No prob playing anywhere but I'm denied my favorite servers... DAMMIT !!! Add that to the new slush we got and it turns out to one shitty week. Again.

Alright! Some new stuff: Tonite was practice night for KEA's Beryllium/OSP team (yep you read right) and instead of playing a team game we went for mass destruction :) I recorded a complete game for all to see, if you have Q3 v1.27 of course! If you're lazy just click HERE to get it. Also I've been updating the servers but not posting about it cuz it's the easiest thing to do on the site. The rule is if it's down for more than 2 days, kiss it goodbye. I'm gonna try to work on the Screenshots page but damn that takes a lot of work. If it's too hard I'll probably start it from scratch (demos will remain untouched, don't worry!).

Hey, got around to working on my site again! Thanks to my clanmates for giving me a great idea, that is vastly improving the server monitors page by adding more, a LOT more! If you have any servers you'd like to recommend please post them on my FORUM. Make sure the version is 1.27 though or else things will get fux0red with Q3plug. I've also put a twist to my "About R3D" page; it now contains my team's personal info !!! Feel free to have a look...

After much thinking, I've decided to put my newest news here on the front page. The news page will now be an archive (a clean-up will be required soon but it's no biggie). And (drumroll please), my site now has A FORUM !!! Everybody's welcome to give me some comments there and I'll answer right back !!! :) Maybe we'll have some flame skirmishes but I'm not into all out flame warfare. Anyways, I don't expect heavy traffic just yet so I'll see how it goes.

Sad day in racing; Dale Earnhardt sr died in the last lap of the Daytona 500. He will be greatly missed. Ok, uploaded the start of the Quake 101 page. Thanx to those participating in it! I will also redo the navigation links on all pages, as well as rethink the homepage so it includes the news. Web administration is a JOB !!! :)

I've finally added my links page. I will try to add a few screenies as well as get started on my Quake101 page. It will not be terribly technical with heavy-duty commands and stuff, but I still want to make it interesting. I'll probably post something about it on CT's Forum so everybody can add his/her little something to my site.

On the request of a few close friends, I am making the links easier to read. I thought I had to ditch the background but now the links come out fine. I've also added what will become the links to my links page and to my Quake 101/DM tips page. These are not ready yet but will be posted as soon as inspiration has struck me :)

Hey !!! Ten days since the last update. My computer was acting weird so I had to do the nasty job of re-installing Windoze (of the ME kind) and things are now back to normal. I should update pages slowly cuz I've been wanting to add a true links page instead of the few I have on the front page and also I'll change the color of the links, on popular demand! So hang in there, I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel !!!! :)

Added 2 news screenshots, as well as two demos. I'm also slowly thinking about a real links page to clean up the homepage, as well as my version of Quake 101. I don't think it'll be extremely detailed with config tricks and such, but more like how I got to the point where I am and what can I do to get better. Anyway, either page will mean a serious overhaul of all the navigation links. Oh the fun.....

Very uncool stuff. My girlfriend and I have parted ways, and it looks definitive. I never thought a single post on a public forum could cause so much damage. Add that to the shitty day at work and you've got the recipe for depression. I'll do my best to not let it get to me too much, and I give Josee into God's hands. More cool stuff. The OSP mod file is now v.99r as should be, and two servers were added on the monitors page; this is T'Krin & miMar's OSP Clan Arena server and CT's new 1v1 Instagibplus. I have my webspace back from Lympatico but the site stays where it now resides. I'll keep the Lympatico space for files and quick screenie posts and such. I'll also try to start working on the screenshots page cuz I have 1 or 2 really nasty ones >:)

After one hell of a misadventure where Sympatico claimed to have lost my alloted webspace, I decided to put up with the ads and signed up at Geocities. Now I have 15mb of space instead of 10 and even if I switch ISP I won't have problems updating my site at least till I get big enough to need proper web-hosting. I'll try to work as fast as possible to make sure all the links work but this might take some time, especially with the screenshots page which will probably be completely redone with new pictures.
