-------This one was WAY too eventful! We had photo passes to work for www.900degrees.co.uk and www.fatbmx.com, but we thought that was it: permission to take photos + free tickets. Nope. We got free programs ($20), had a chance to interview whoever we wanted, take pictures and record the first 40 minutes, then relocate to a kickass section (14th row, center - $80). As if that wasn't enough, we got to go to the meet and greet, and everyone was actually nice and conversational (especially Carey Hart, Kevin Robinson, Andy MacDonald, and Mat Hoffman, who was happy to hear that I own a Hoffman bike.)
-------But the surprise of the night came from Tony Hawk. We were able to interview him earlier in the day, and after the show, I asked him to sign this picture from this page, and explained that I looked shocked in [the picture] because it was the first time I had met him. So he took it, looked at it, and said, "Yeah this is on that website I was talking about [from earlier during the interview]. I saw this on that site." Okay... the whole time, I'm denying it in my head that he's visited my website and that maybe it was a misunderstanding. But he continues with "Cool story... about how you were shocked and you had to walk away." So what exactly do you say to that when frickin' Tony Hawk busts out with 'I've been to your website and I remember you from the pictures'?!? "So you've seen that site?," was the only thing I could think of, as I slowly moved away while he nodded and smiled. I now realize that you can get that page by searching for "tony hawk 900 pictures x games philadelphia 2001" on Google. I guess he just HAD to find a way to shock me again. It's all very 'wtf.' So if you're reading this now, then there's something you've shared with Mr. Hawk. SICK!

APRIL 2002

As you may have noticed, I have put the music thing "on hold," and thus, haven't been to any shows (although I did interview Tim from Adema). I guess most of my recent work can be seen on UMBC Athletics site, the Northeast Conference site, The Baltimore Sun, and even some papers in New Jersey (don't ask).
