Amber Simmons Sweeps Slalom Overall Awards
Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club's own Amber Simmons once again proved she is the most dominant female slalom racer in the province by being the fastest woman today at Table Mountain, site of the final slalom race for the 1999/2000 Sask Cup Race Series.  This marked the seventh consecutive time Amber has won the overall award in a Sask Cup Race Series Slalom - that's every slalom this year!  Awesome skiing Amber!!
It was another great day for the QVSC Alpine Race and Development Teams as they picked up a lot more points for our club along with many medals.  Winning GOLD medals were:  Amber Simmons - J1/J2 Women, Brittany Simmons - K2 Women and Kenton Hamilton - K1 Men.  SILVER medals went to: Rachelle Hollinger for J1/J2 Women, Ryan Cochrane for J1/J2 Men, Allysen Reed for K2 Women, Joel Taylor for K2 Men, Natasja Lombard for K1 Women and Aaron Fenwick for K1 Men.  Completing the medal haul for QVSC with BRONZE were Ashley Hall in J1/J2 Women and Kara Delaney in K1 Women.

Hamilton and Simmons Sisters Provincial Champs

The first two days at Table Mountain were the Provincial Slalom Championships.  Saskatchewan's slalom winners were determined by calculating each athletes three best runs from the previous two days of racing.  Sask Alpine sponsored beautiful engraved glass plates for each category on the Sask Cup circuit.  QVSC athletes collected three of the six plates - Kenton Hamilton for K1 Men, Brittany Simmons for K2 Women and Amber Simmons for J1/J2 Women.

SIX STRAIGHT FOR Q.V.S.C.
The annual Alpine Saskatchewan Awards banquet in North Battleford was the site for Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club to be presented with the Sask Cup Race Series Club Championship plaque.  This marked an unprecedented sixth consecutive club championship for Q.V.S.C.!  Sask Alpine president, Gary Delaney presented the plaque to coaches Kirk and Cory Cochrane who then called all QVSC athletes on stage to share in the moment.

Athletes Honoured At Provincial Awards Banquet
Battlefords Ski Club hosted this year's Alpine Saskatchewan Awards Banquet in North Battleford.  The awards for the Sask Cup Race Series were presented by Gary Delaney, president of Sask Alpine, to the top three athletes in each of the six categories.  These awards were determined by using points from the whole Sask Cup season (4 GS races, 7 SL races).  Each athletes total was obtained by totaling points from their best two GS races added to their next five best results.  Once the tabulations were complete, the following QVSC athletes were honoured:
