"... and lo, sprung forth from the perilous loins of hades stood the formidable opponent, physics, in all its hideousness.
'alack!  alack!' cried the helpless university students, 'for we know not the way to determine the magnetic force through a current carrying wire! and what are these point charges of which it speaks?  are they some sort of ancient weapon?'  alack! alack!  for our ignorance has brought upon our death!'
just when the students thought all was lost, a voice rang out in the midst of the despair.  'fear not,' it spoke, 'for i will defeat this evil foe and establish love and peace in this kingston... er.. kingdom once more'.  and with a great roar, the courageous warrior dashed towards physics.   skillfully wielding her mighty weapon, the calculator, the champion quickly laid waste? to the monster.
'no more will you hold an influence over these good people,' she commanded.  turning around to face her fellow students, the warrior said 'i now release you from physic's deadly siren call.  you are no longer enslaved!'
'n-no more physics?' one man stuttered, 'you truly are a champion! hail the conqueror of physics!  hail tiffany!'  and from that day forward, physics never took a part in their lives ever again.  hail indeed to that brave warrior, tiffany..."

well, things have been pretty good as of late.  except for calc  - man!  i HATE stupid integrals and stupid trig!  as zamir would say, "FLIP!"  (as you can tell, i'm trying to stay away from the profanity.)  anyway, so what i've been doing these past few days has been studying, eating, and watching movies (i love kazaa!) and buffy/angel (i doubly love kazaa!)  sadly, there's nobody really here who shares my passion for buffy and angel, so there's no one to really discuss is with....  EBRU!!!!  WHERE ARE YOU?  i must say that the past few episodes have been really intriguing as of late.   and extremely gross.  i mean, xander with the eye being poked out and the gushing blood?  EEEEEWWWW!!!  it was a really big, and extremely icky shock.  i was showing the scene to grace and hasib so i had to watch the scene three times over and i must say, "EW!"

but seriously, it's a really good show.  yeah, it can be disturbing at times, but in a thought-provoking, creepy sort of way. (like that episode of angel where connor drags that girl down the hallway with darla and cordy looking on... man, i wonder what that song in the background was.  it was so effectively creepy, it gave me shivers).  it's SO well-written and, yet so many people write it off as just some dumb teeny-bopper show with a dumb name.  hmph.

hmmm... or maybe i'm just trying to justify watching those shows since no one else here does.  (but seriously, i'm not lying!  they ARE good!)

anyway, back to my boring life. actually, nothing else has been going on besides the aforementioned list.  i wanted to go to dinner with jeanie and ketan (well, we DID purchase her, we better get something!)  i think it's dinner at the grizzly grill or something.  anyway, i wanted to go, but with our different schedules, it hasn't worked out yet.  i swear, this better not turn out to be JUST like the prefect scavenger hunt!  i mean, we won and totally deserved our dinner (i even spent quite a bit of money paying for a few of the items - film processing is expensive!), yet because we were too busy and/or lazy, we never got our gift certificates!  sheesh! anyway, we ARE going to dinner sometime, i don't care if i have to come back to kingston in the summer just for it!  we're eating out, dammit!

plus, it'll be nice to spend some time with my two favourite brown people!!  (with the possible exception of hasib... it's a tough call...)

oh, i have news:  CANDICE HAD HER BABY!!!  isn't that the coolest and weirdest thing?  its weird in the way that she's on a totally different path of life than i am - i still feel like a baby myself!  but, you know, she's happy, and i'm really happy and excited for her.  her baby is a boy and he's named christian.  nice name, don't you think?  i was considering christian as one of my future kids' names... it's so hard to think of actually nice (and not common) boys names.  grace and i actually tried looking them up on the web, and after a few hundred names, we still couldn't find any sure things.  can you guys think of any good suggestions?  (i'll steal YOUR babies' names!!!  mwahahahaha!!!)  anyway, so her son's name is christian, and i saw a picture of him and he's pretty cute!  the pic was taken while he was still at the hospital, i believe, and surprisingly, he didn't have the bright red, scrunched up face that most newborns have!  what a cutie!  i can't wait to go visit her and him this summer!  i'll be in full gush mode!  congratulations, candice!

hmmm... what else is going on?  oh, on the boy front, did i tell you about the guitar playing thing?  well, i told some friends about it, and now they're teasing me.  sigh.  such is the life of tiffany.  whatever!  when i finally meet my sensitive yet manly, guitar-playing, God-loving, total hottie of a future singer-boyfriend, they are going to be SO jealous!!!  you just wait!  anyway, haven't met anyone here that's met the bill.... yet.  we'll just have to see.

speaking of musicians, here's a little announcement:  my friend ming is having a little concert at his church (markham chinese presbyterian church) on may 30th (it's a friday) at 7:30pm.  it's to fundraise for his upcoming missions trip.  the concert should be pretty great, and it's for a great cause. i think the suggestion donation is $5 or something.  anyway, if you're interested, you should really go.  it promises to be an evening of great music. (ming said that he even wrote some of the songs himself!  impressive, eh?)

and back to guys for a sec, let me just add this in:  if any of you are wondering about the whole thing from a few messages ago, don't worry about it.  for a little while, i didn't really feel like talking to this guy.  i just couldn't think of things to say (besides in my head: "what a loser!"). so i think i'm on the road to getting over him.  more of a "why should i waste my time on a guy i don't even know if i truly like?" this whole "i don't give a -----" attitude is making things a lot better for me - i like it!  whenever i go back to this stage its always nice - never complicated, you know?  of course, it's not always pleasant for those of the opposite sex, but... who cares?  i'm happy, so it's all good!

acutally, i'm still a little, eensie-weesie bit confused, but overall, i'm just not caring and going on with my life.  still good friends and all, but not really caring that much about the sitch.

oh, and guess what else?  apparently some guy asked jess if i was single!  how weird is that?  i suspect that he probably asks that of every girl that he meets because i know he hasn't really been won over by my charm.  we've only talked... once? and for a brief while too.  it was because jess asked me to talk to him because he was joining us for dinner before they went to work on a seminar.  anyway, that was a few months ago, and i doubt i made that great of an impression.  truth be told, i thought he was kinda dopey.  he was nice, but seemed kinda clueless to me.  hey... actually that reminds me of a lot of guys i know...  anyway, i'm not sure what that's all about ... unless he was drawn to my lack of good looks?  hey, maybe guys DO like plain, boring girls!

anyway, that's all for today.  i'll write in on another day... probably not until next week.  i have an exam on monday (easter monday!  not fair!  religious holiday!) and wednesday, then i'm done!  yay!  then afterward home... maybe montreal?  it's not fair!  i want to go to montreal with some friends, but everyone's schedule is different and i'm prolly going home on saturday!  man!  well... maybe we can pretend that we're on a trip to kingston... perhaps we can go explore all those places we never got to go during the school year?

anyway, ta ta for now!  (oh, p.s.  who actually reads this anyway?  i'm just curious.)
