| sunday, october 6, 2002 whoa, i haven't written in here for ages! well, things have changed drastically since i've gotten to uni. i've been here for a month, and i'm really enjoying it so far. well, everything but the physics and chemistry labs... man! those prelabs are absolute torture!!! why must you write out the ENTIRE procedure when it's written quite concisely in the lab manual??? are they trying to kill us or something? well, as i said earlier, things are pretty cool here. oh my goodness, res life is so much fun!!! actually, it's kinda bad in the way that you get distracted so unbelievably easily! i mean, you have all these new-found friends on your floor, and it's so easy to have someone come into your room and just start up a conversation, or to just wander into someone else's room. trust me - when you wander in to a friend's room, before you know it, an hour has gone by! it's great having all these friends close by, but I'M NOT GETTING ANYTHING DONE!!!!!!!!!! crap! midterms are in less then two weeks, and i just opened two of my text books (and i haven't looked through them yet).... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway, i've met so many cool people since i've been here. it's kinda funny though, even though i've moved to the whitest university ever, it seems that most of my friends here are chinese! not that it's a bad thing or anything, if anything, i have more in common with them (especially since we all don't exclusively dress in abercrombie & fitch or american eagle!) but it's just that i don't want all my friends to be chinese. it feels like we're being clique-ish (and it's pronounced "cleeck", not "click"!) even though we're really not. meh, whatever. i'm just trying to introduce some "ethnic diversity" into my group of friends... actually, i have a vague idea that this is making me sound like a terrible person or something.... don't worry, my main goal is just to make as many friends as i can. i'm a little worried that my group of friends is kinda limited here as well because i've been spending all my time with the previously mentioned (wonderful) friends. so, if you're a student of queen's university, come and be my friend!!!! (even if you are chinese!) anyway, as i was saying, i've met some really nice people here. it's really cool, because some of them are actual kindred spirits!!! it's quite exciting to meet people who have the same sense of humour, are really nice, intelligent, and just totally click with you when you meet them. it's like, after talking with them for an hour, it feels like you've been friends forever! these people are becoming increasingly important in my life... i love you all!!! *muah* heh heh... that was such a benita thing to write! ( i miss ya, dearie!) |
