For those of you not in the know, a SIREN is a creature from Greek mythology. Sirens are most often portrayed as a bird with the head and/or torso of a woman. The Sirens would lure sailors to the rocks by singing so beautifully that the sailors would jump from their boats just to be near the singing women. They had unbelievable voices that could not be imitated by anyone. I earned the nickname Siren (for the singing part, not the luring men part) from a friend of mine, and I decided that since I'm going to major in music education, the nickname was appropriate. 8/13/01 *Sigh* The summer is drawing to a close... It's been a great one though! I just had my last day at Paper Warehouse and this friday brings the end of my pre-school classroom assitant job for the summer. I've decided to do that all next summer though - I can't stay away from those little kids!! Well, Mike finally got his new web site up and running - www.leagueofslackers.com. I'll probably be posting news there instead because this site is a pain to upload to... I did, however, just update a few small things here today - including the friends page and the books page. Not anything major, but it still took time (which I now actually have plenty of...). I'm going back to school in 13 days and I'm really looking forward to it! Talk to you all later!
5/15/01 Well, I made it through my first year of college and I'm still alive!! I have time now to pursue other forms of entertainment, such as reading, so I thought I'd share some good books with you. There are a lot of books, but just imagine how many would be there if I hadn't cut my list down! Well, happy summer to you all and take some time to read a book - they don't bite (hard). ^_^
