2008/2009 Audition Information

When: Monday September 21, 2009 from 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Where: Bews Gym, PEC
**Dance experience and training are a must!**
Registration begins at 6:00 in the upper lobby of the PEC

Registration begins at 6:00. Please arrive promptly, and give yourself enough time to warm up. You are responsible for warming up yourself.

The audition will consist of three (3) parts. A jazz combination, technique, and a hip hop combination. Within the technique portion of the audition we will be looking at jumps, turns and flexibility. Some skills we will be looking for include front and side jetes, quadruple pirouettes, fouette and pump turns, and fan kicks.

We will be looking for personality during the audition, so make sure you have fun and show us who you truly are!

Before you audition for the team, you should know a little bit about who we are and what we do. The Queen's Dance Team performs at the home basketball games throughout the year. We prepare time out performances and a half time show for the games. We enjoy performing at charity performances throughout the year; for example, last year the team performed for seniors at the Kingston General Hospital and at the opening ceremonies of the Winter Adapted Games held at Queen's University. We attend a variety of competitions in the spring. This year we will be attending Terpsichore in Guelph and the National Dance Alliance Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida! Overall, we are a group of fun loving dancers, who love to get together and share the joy of dance!
