Z I P P I N G - - - it's a must know Ü
This
is for those of you don't know what zipping is and how to do it.
Zipping is basically a way to compress your files into one single file
to keep the file size down. It's one of the many ways of compression
actually, 'coz there are other ways like RAR files, etc. Zipping is the
most common file compression utility.
The best way to learn about zipping is to go to Winzip's website
(http://www.winzip.com).
WinZip is only one of the many compression
utilities out there, but it's the most popular and you can download it
and keep using it because it doesn't expire even after its trial
period. Ü Here are the basic directions to follow in zipping...
1.)
Download a file compression utility. For simplicity's sake, we'll
go with WinZip. (URL above.)
2.) Run the setup file you downloaded to install WinZip.
3.) After installation, run the program file (by default, Winzip
installs a shortcut on your desktop and your start menu).
4.) To create a new "zip file", you can use the Wizard. It comes up
the first time you run WinZip. Just follow the instructions, super user
friendly. When you feel that you've gotten the hang of
'zipping' already, switch to Classic mode. You can probably find
the answers to ALL your questions in the help file with WinZip.
This
must be used for both pagemaker files and for your fonts. No
need to send pictures once they are pasted on the pagemaker file.
Because it will automatically be embedded.
Happy
Zipping! Ü
