Stephen Bienskie (The FIX, Zombie Prom, The Last Session, Who's Tommy)

Stephen has been busy since he appeared in The Last Session on off Broadway. After the successfully runThe FIX at the Signature Theatre, he was rumored to reprise the role of Buddy in The Last Session performed at Laguna Playhouse this fall. But he got the opportunity to originate a role in another American Premiere musical Just So, co-produced by Sir Cameron Mackintosh at Goodspeed Opera House this November. His absence will be terribly missed in TLS but I'm so excited for Stephen to create an original role.
Another exciting news! The original cast recording CD of Zombie Prom (by the creators of THE FIX) is said to be released on September 9 in UK. It was Stephen's first show on Off Broadway. I will keep you informed on this CD.
The successful run of Just So was ended at Goodspeed. You can see some of the stage photos at Goodspeed Opera House Home Page!!

GREAT NEWS! Stephen was offered for Buddy in The Last Session in Tiffany Theatre at West Hollywood; however, he got Rum Tum Tugger role in CATS on Broadway, so he decided to stay in NYC! He must be a fabulous Rock n' Roll cat. His first show on Broadway is March 1st. Anybody who will have a chance to see him in CATS, please report to me!

Stephen will be in the reading of The Witches of Eastwick by Dana P. Rowe and John Dempsey (THE FIX) on March 5. For the information about the reading cast go here.

He is on the roll! Stephen was nominated for BEST ACTOR for the Helen Hays Awards! THE FIX got 10 nominations, YEAH!! Good luck, Stephen, we'll be crossing our fingers for ya!

CONGRATULATIONS! Stephen got the prestigious 1999 Helen Hayes Award for the best lead actor (THE FIX)!!! Also, his co-star Sal Mistretta got the best supporting performer award. I'm SO HAPPY and PROUD OF these guys!

My wonderful friend, Joseph, took a picture of Stephen after the show. He even signed his autograph on the playbill, which he held in this photo. Isn't he SO cute?! Stephen said that he'd be in CATS until Feb. 2000. Thanks, Joseph and Stephen!

OH MY GOD!

Stephen appeared in the most popular TV drama on cable, SOPRANO, "D-Girl" episode, as a hotel clerk! I didn't know about this but was watching the show. And I kept saying this actor looks like Stephen and sure enough, his name appeared on the credit title!! He had a few lines and lots of close-up too! Congrats, Stephen, for your TV debut! You looked GREAT :)

John Barrowman (POTO, Miss Saigon, Sunset Blvd., The FIX, Grease, Anything Goes)

It was reported that John visited the Signature Theatre during the FIX run, ONE DAY AFTER I LEFT D.C.! (go figure) Well, don't worry we will have a plenty of opportunity to see him this fall. Also, he appeared on a PBS station in NYC during the pledge period when they showed Hey, Mr. Producer!

Watch out, John Barrowman in Southern California! He will be appearing in Putting It Together from October 22 through December 6 (* has been extended) at Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles with Carol Burnnet, Susan Egan, and Bronson Pinchot. Mark Taper is a small theatre, so you can see John up close. The show will be directed by Eric D. Scheaffer, who directed the Signature production of the FIX.

Putting It Together has started the preview on October 4, opening on October 22, 1998. And yours truly is going to see the show at the last preview! Watch out for the review! The director, Eric Schaeffer, was reported to say that the show has been changed quite a bit. With the strong cast like Carole Burnnet, Susan Egan and John "prince charming" Barrowman, it will be a stellar show.

I have seen PIT twice so far and am going for the third time soon. Stay tuned for my review and a pic of John that I took at the stagedoor. He is SO GORGEOUS in person!

The BBC are making a feature film of the Sleeping Beauty -with John Barrowman as Prince Charming! The lucky Sleepy Beauty is Emma Bunton, Baby Spice. With so many Spice Girl fans around the globe, John will become a household name soon!

It has been confirmed that John will be the next Beast in London's Beauty and the Beast! He will start on April 26, 1999.

Look at John as the Prince!! drooling alart!

After leaving B&B in West End, John is now appearing in Putting It Together on Broadway (Ethel Barrymore Theatre) with Carol Burnett, Ruthie Henshall, George Hearn, Bronson Pinchot. Kathie Lee Gifford. The preview started on October 30, 1999 and the opening night is November 21, 1999. The long wait is over!! John's second solo CD has just been released! Reflections from Broadway is now available at Colony and Footlight Record in NYC. There are 17 tracks and as soon as I get mine, I'll list the numbers.

Matt Cammelle (Les Miserables, POTO)

After performing alternate Enjorlas and after Glyn left for POTO, Matt played Enjorlas as a principle. Then he left Les Miserables and joined the UK tour of POTO as Raoul. He must be the most beautiful and noble Raoul ever performed, Christine will have no agony choosing him over Erik, I'm sure.

As rumored, Matt will be Arnaud du Thil in the new revised UK tour version of Martin Guerre, which will begin the tour in November. It has been rumored that the tour company eventually will come back to London, and Martin Guerre will be performed on the U.S. soil too. I can't wait to see MG again.
The reviews of new Martine Guerre is in!

What's On Stage review

New Cast Martin Guerre CD will be recorded on January 11, 1999. Even though some of us cannot see Matt in Martin Guerre, we can hear him singing!

Matt will be Raoul in the Phantom of the Opera on West End from the end of November. He performed Raoul on UK tour but this is the chance for many fans to see him as Raoul! According to a friend who met Matt at the stagedoor, he signed up for the show for six months.

David Bardsley ( Les Miserables, The FIX, Blood Brothers, Guys and Dolls)

Julie's favorite Hunk (okay along with John, Matt, and Glyn) came back to Palace Theatre for a limited engagement as Enjorlas after Matt left for the POTO UK tour. He appeared at a concert in Scotland last month and sang "Any Dream Will Do."

David appeared on England popular soap opera, Eastenders, as a landlord (Steve Rogers) of a local pub, The Bailey. Even though he was punched and got bloody nose, at least he appeared on the second highest viewed show.

News Alart! It is reported that David is performing in a new American Musical called "Personals" at New England Theatre! Apparently, the show was sold out and had a successful run. Please e-mail me if you saw this show!

The CD of PERSONALS (from the creators of "Friends" and the composer of "Godspell" and "The Little Shop of Horrors") is now available! (TER Ltd. 1254) Pictures from Personals

ATTENTION! David has been cast as Enjorlas in the Dublin run of Les Miserables with Colm! Congrats, David!! Julie will go to see the show in five weeks, so we can read her review (and possibly a photo of him) here!

Julie reported that David has beard! Read all the detail in her Dublin Tour review!

Personals is transferring!

It's going to be previewing at the Yvonne Arnaud theatre in Surrey and then transfers to West End mid-May - no theatre announced yet. Stay tuned!

Jerome Pradon (Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, Martin Guerre, Nine)

After leaving Martin Guerre, Jerome went back to Paris and played Guido in Nine, which I saw last September!!! I was too chicken to wait for him after the show, darn. Jerome has not appeared on stage since then but he has been pretty busy participating a workshop for musicals and he directed and performed one man play (invitation only performance). The musical he worked on at a workshop sounds promising and may hit West End next year. I'll keep you informed!

News alart!! Jerome was considered as the cast for the revamped Martin Guerre tour, but he apparently turned it down!

Jerome has just completed a film with Dennis Rodman, tentatively called SIMON SAYS, in which he plays the villain. He has also played in a TV series for the BBC calles ARISTOCRATES as well as in a TV Film for the French National Television.

Jerome is going to star as Rasputin at the Bridewell Theatre in Killing Rasputin! Dates are Nov. 26 - Jan. 13. Also, he is scheduled to appear at an AIDS benefit concert in Paris next April. Stay tuned!

Jerome is working on two major films including one directed by Roland Joff(The Killing Fields, Mission) and starring Gerard Depardieu. Will this be shown in U.S. too?!

I was told that VATEL, the Jofffilm will definitely be shown in the US since it's shot in English and also stars international stars such as Uma Thurman. How wonderful is that!?

Another great news: Jerome had a featured role in a film called THE DANCER, directed by Fred Garcon and produced by Luc Besson (The Fifth Element). It was shot in France but spoken in English.

Also, Jerome will star a short musical film about modern fairy tale written by Stephane Ly-Cuong (Hi, Steph!) who won the screenplay contest in France. The songs have been recorded already and they are going to shoot within a month!

Jerome will be back on stage this fall but in a non-musical role. He will play Godfrey Hamilton's ROAD MOVIE at the Sudden Theatre from November 11 through December 5 in Paris. He portrays all the characters in this play and he has adapted himslef the play from English into French. Hope this will be a huge hit and transfer to West End or Broadway!!

Jerome has just finished shooting VATEL and everything seemed to went well. The film should be released in the spring 2000. br>
Jerome's film called SIMON SEZ, starring Dennis Rodman, will be released in L.A. in September.

I just learned that Jerome will play Juda in the Andrew Lloyd Webber's video release of Jesus Christ Superstar!!!
