Story

In short, it's a musical about one man's rise and fall in the American political scene with a Kennedyesque family at the center.

If you want to read a detailed synopsis, click the book.

FORBIDDEN WEST END

To celebrate the opening of the FIX at Signature Theatre, I present you Forbidden West End, a parody lyric of The FIX (plus other musicals)!! If you are a fan of The FIX and Les Miserables, this is a must for you.

Sir Cameron Mackintosh on Dana P. Rowe and John Dempsey

Cameron's interview was printed on San Francisco Chronicle , and he talked very highly of Dana and John. Unfortunately, the article is not online, so I reprint the excerpt of the article here.

The Stage's Big Mac by Blake Green special to the Chronicle (Aug 23, 1997)
".... He (Cameron)'s also 'actively discussing' bringing "The Fix," a musical about political intrigue, currently playing in New York, to San Francisco.
'The Fix' played in a Washington, D.C., suburb earlier this year to rave reviews, and Mackintosh foresees its songwriting team of John Dempsey and Dana P. Rowe as "the most important writers in the American musical in a very, very long time. Their style is a cross between Howard Ashman, Alan Menken and Stephen Sondheim -- a highly comic, dark view of life."
"Dempsey and Rowe, also working with him on a musical adaptation of 'The Witches of Eastwick,' could be Mackintosh's biggest discovery since Alan Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, writers of "les Miz' and "Miss Saigon."

Stage & Rehearsal Photos

You didn't see the action in Donmar? Bummer! But you can peek some of the stage and rehearsal shots of the World Premiere of The FIX. Of course, these mere two-dimensional pictures won't give the show a justice but it's better than none! Just click here!
