In the year 2032, Big Brother is alive and well. The World Coalition Government has annexed 80% of all nations and tracks your every move. While those in the cities maintain an acceptable level of comfort at the expense of freedom, the poorest masses exist at the fringes of a toxic wasteland and at the mercy of the Syndicate - a nefarious web of criminals run by Boss Muro.

You are Konoko - a young girl unaware of your past and your destiny. In the midst of the corruption that surrounds you on all sides you must unravel the mystery of your own identity while fighting to save humanity from extinction.

And so the stage is set for Oni (demon or ghost in japenese), the beautiful new action game that combines hand to hand combat with futuristic weapons in a stunningly rendered environment.

The distinct storyline and visual style of Oni is heavily influenced by japanese animation, generally referred to as anime. The colorful hair and splash screens that separate each level are a few examples.

The futuristic storyline of the game begins with Konoko's first mission, an in and out bust in a warehouse that leads her further into the mystery of the Syndicate in her search to shut the organization and discover just who Muro is, even if the world is determined to keep him a secret.
