Chapter 04: Tiger by The Tail |Airport AssaultYour first task is to take out the two strikers that Muro sets on you. One will run inside and start harrassing civilians, and one will come after you. It's really just easier to take the first one out with your gun, backing up and shooting as he runs directly at you. The second one can be handled the same way if you lure him out into the streets. Otherwise just take him hand to hand, and holster your weapon so you aren't disarmed. Speak with the civilian you helped out and she will give you a hypo that will probably come in use in this level. Move further into the airport, and take out the communications striker who's lurking in one of the alcoves to the left. When you're finished with him, get your gun back out and prepare to take out the armed striker up ahead. Move to the next room and take care of the armed striker there. If you're quick enough to save the female civilian, she'll reward you with a hypo. Move to the left side of the room and use the console there to unlock the door to the next room. In the next room, your gun might come in handy against the pair of strikers, one brown, one blue. If you can take the armed brown one out quickly it will make the rest a lot easier. When you've defeated them, find the male civilian in the blue shirt and he will give you an ammo clip that will probably be very useful. Head through the next door and evade the fire of the engineer on the other side of the room. He'll run and the ramp on the other side will explode so you can't follow. Head down the ramp and assist the two airport workers with the brown striker and communications striker. Head towards the ramps out to the runway. Save Point 2 Take left ramp and quickly deal with the plasma-rifle toting striker who's a little trigger happy. When he dies, pick up the hypo he drops. Run under the plane towards the fence. On the right, hiding behind a stack of crates, you'll find a lurking communictions striker guarding an energy cell. Get the cell and deal with the striker. There's also an ammo clip on the top of one of the higher boxes in the center of the field you can get to by going to the far side, jumping on the smaller crate up to the larger one, then jumping from one to the other until you get to the ammo clip. Head back past the plane and snipe at the communications striker who's sneaking around by the baggage carts at the next plane. After he's taken care of, turn your attention to the armed blue striker on patrol who will be coming after you. He drops an energy cell that will probably be extremely helpful if you're getting low, or even out. Next, you have to worry about a brown and blue striker. If you have the ammo for it, take the brown striker out from afar, since he's armed and poses the biggest threat. Lure the blue striker down the air field, shooting at him as he pursues you. Head down the ramp, where another blue striker will spot you and start shooting. Lure him into the airfield and bombard him with your plasma rifle (with all the strikers dropping them, they're the easiest to pick up, and they're very effective) until he goes down. You can't rest yet, as a suicide-bomber trooper comes running at you just behind the blue striker. If you have the ammo to, shoot him, and stay as far away from him as possible. If you have to fight him up close, dash as far away as possible the second he goes down, because three seconds after he goes, a the bomb harness he was wearing will detonate with unfortunate results for bystanders. You get a few seconds to breathe, but only a few. Head down the ramp into the cargo bay and go up the ramp on the far side of the room. When you get to the top of the ramp, Shinatama will send you more information. Immediately after, the door to the next room will open and a brown striker will come through to attack you. Kill him and head into the room. At the other end of the room, behind a divider, another brown striker with a scram cannon will be waiting for you. Close the gap between you fast so he can't keep shooting you full of holes, and deal with him up close. Save Point 3 When you go through the door, you'll encounter Muro, who's arranged an ambush of two strikers, one armed with a VDG Pistol that will keep rendering you temporarily helpless everytime you get shot with it. If you have any ammo left, keep backing away and firing at the striker with the VDG Pistol. When he goes down, close in on the other striker and keep pummeling him so he doesn't get a chance to pick up the VDG Pistol, because it's a pain to deal with. After you take care of him, pick up the VDG Pistol, because while you don't want it used against you, neither does anyone else. There are two rooms to the right. The one glowing orange contains a force shield that not only looks cool, but can save you in a pinch. The other room contains the console that unlocks the door to follow Muro. Unlock the door and head through to the final room of the level. You'll immediately encounter an armed brown striker on the walkway. If you can hide and wait for him to get near without being spotted, it's easier fight him up close and you don't take nearly as much damage from his gun. After you've disposed of him, head to the big room next to the stairs. Everyone inside is already dead, but you'll find a hypo spray and a locked console you'll need to remember in a few minutes. Go down to the main level and deal with the communications striker you'll find there. Run to the opposite corner of the room and up the stairs, where you'll need to deal with a blue striker and an armed brown striker. Go inside the room, where you'll find a key console you'll use to unlock the console in the other room. Unfortunately, this also lets in two red strikers, both armed, who will be more of a challenge to deal with. The VDG Pistol comes in handy here, as it disables one for a few precious seconds so you can attack brutally (if you can pull off a backbreaker while they're stunned, it works great). Turn your attention to the other one, and do a little dancing to avoid fire, since you're probably hurting for health anyway if you haven't got any hypos stored up. When both of them are dealt with, go to the room with the console you just unlocked, and use it to open the door the red strikers came in through. Go through the door and the level is complete. Next Chapter 5
