Aside from winery tours and sun-worship this area of the Okanagan Valley offers exceptional year- round events and activities. Golfing begins much earlier in the year than is possible in many other parts of the country. The nearby provincial park is also an early spring through late summer draw. You can test your mettle in the Ironman Canada Competition held yearly in Penticton, partake in the fun of the Okanagan Wine Festival twice yearly, or hit the slopes at Apex Ski Resort before returning home to a roaring fire in our stone fireplace. Hiking on the abandoned Kettle Valley Railway is a great way to get to know the terrain of the valley, its history, and it is even possible to stop at vineyards along the way for some respite amidst the natural splendour you will encounter. Local potters produce a wide array of craftwork. For something more spiritual, drop in to the Naramata Center and meditate in its scenic environment of natural materials, lighting and warmth. The Lake: windsurfing, waterskiing, parasailing or tubing through the canal from Lake Okanagan to Skaha Lake are all enjoyed every summer. Or you can just worship the sun all day at Manitou Park Beach- a 3 minute drive from the property.. Try taking a bag of cherries and leaving them in the sun all day. By 4 pm they are a surprisingly delightful snack. |
