Effie realised that her time as an actress/model was over. This did not phase the wonder dog though, and she decided to have a break. She spent most of her days going to South Australia's premiere adventure park, Puzzle Park. She just loved to go on the Giant Slide, we found it hard to get her off of it to come home. |

Effie decided that she was wasting her life, and although the TV world didn't want her anymore, the sporting world might. She took up Korfball, a little known sport in Australia but one of immense popularity in Europe. Effie trained her heart out, working out day and night. She couldn't believe it when she was selected to play for Australia, facing the rest of the world at the World Korfball Championships. Effie starred in the Championships nad was a stand-out player, even though Australia had a dismal performance. |

Soon Effie tired of Korfball though, as she had achieved in the sport all that she wanted, so saw no point to play on. Effie then shocked the footballing world. After a long hard pre-season, she managed to get picked up in the February draft, becoming the first female to play in the AFL. The Crows were lucky to gain a player of the calibre of Effie. She played up forward, kicking a swag of goals and won the Coleman Medal, narrowly defeating Essendon gun Matthew Lloyd, being by far the best Full Forward in the competition. |

The worst thing that could happen to Effie did, a career ending knee injury. She was flying for a mark against Collingwood and she landed awkwardly, tearing every tendon and ligament in her knee. she could not play on. Effie was devasted by this, as she really enjoyed the lifestyle which cam along with football. Unhappy to see such a champion go down, the Crows offered Effie the role of Assistant Coach, one she took diligently. |
