So here's the way I do things: I get inspired by a photograph or sign up for an online swap or *something*... then I go out of my way to do everything in the most difficult way possible. Here are some photos of projects that I completed before the year started - at least those I remembered to photograph before I gave them away!

Neon Cats - One of my first (and last) hand-applique projects
This one's called "Which Christmas?" as in, "I'll have it done by Christmas...."

Spinning Flowers, the project that made me realize that Keith has an eye for color
The Quilt That Launched A Thousand Ideas - This bullseye quilt was made from blocks swapped at ChickenStock 2001. It wears well and just looks better each time it's washed! In 2005, the quilt inspired a whole new group of quiltmakers to make and swap blocks.
The Funny Farm - quilt was made for Chickenstock 2003 retreat swap. The recipient entered it into a local fair and sent me the Blue Ribbon!
Here's the label on the back of the Chickenstock quilt...
...and here it is, again, opened. (Took me almost as long to design and make the label as it did to make the quilt!)
Free-form cats, inspired by the border fabric. Contains my first hand-dyed fabric in one of the cats! The eyes are teeny-tiny beads, the 'nose' and 'mouth' are narrow zig-zag stitched.
Kelsey's Quilt. For my friend Kelsey in Australia - even from an Australian quilting pattern! It has ruching and other 3-D-type flowers on it. She was kind enough to enter this into a fair/festival in New South Wales. It won a purple ribbon!
For my in-laws' anniversary. This is *most* of the quilt. My friend Judy Danz machine quilted it for me and (as usual) turned a fairly simple quilt top into a piece of ART. Click here to take a closer look at Judy's Gorgeous Quilting and here to go to Judy's website.
Independence Day Table Runner and Placemats for Mom. The runner actually made it for Independence Day (2003? 2002?) but the placemats didn't arrive until Christmas 2003! Click here to see quilting detail.
Mother's Day Table Runner for Mom. Of course, she didn't receive it until Christmas... Click here to take a closer look.
A mini quilt (about 6" square). HAND-pieced (ugh - shudder) on an airplane, probably one of the trips to Minneapolis, maybe Quebec.
Mystery Cats Wallhanging- My very first (and possibly last) online mystery quilt. Wayyyyyyyy early in my quilting experience and it shows!
For Georgia Wood, daughter of John Wood and Jill Lacina in NSW, Australia. I love the pattern, love the colors and had a great time putting this together.
Whatsoever the Hand Finds to Do, the Heart Should Go Forth in Unison. One of my little quilts, seems to say it so well, I made up a second one.
And here it is!
