INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

is a broad and expanding field of applied science encompassing parts of many disciplines that relate to information processing and management. The IT program is designed to provide graduates with the necessary skills to function in today's business world with particular emphasis on the centrality of information and its processing, distribution, and presentation. In a broad sense, IT graduates will obtain competenceies in areas such as personal computer (PC) support services, computer programming, network technology, or integrated application systems. More specifically graduates will demonstrate technical skills in areas such as computer networking, data communications, data structures, personal computer applications, database management, programming, and systems analysis and design. In non-technical areas, graduates will have completed a core of courses including interpersonal skills, written and spoken communciation, an actual hands-on experience in the field through internship.

INTEGRATED APPLICATION SYSTEMS

This program is designed to teach the skills necessary to solve business problems and to develop customer applications
through the use of integrated software and web-based development. this degree enables the graduate to obtain employment
in areas that may require skills n web design or customized business development using microcomputer skills.

PC SUPPORT EMPHASIS

This specialization is designed to provide graduates with the skills necessary to troubleshoot and implement a course
of action necessary to solve customer hardware and software problems.

NETWORK TECHNOLOGY

This specialization is designed to prepare the graduate with the skills necessary to implement and manage a local/wide area
network. This degree enables the graduate to obtain employment in areas that may require knowledge and skills in network
hardware and software administration and support.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING

This specialization is designed to prepare the graduate with skills necessary to program in a number of languages utilized on
one or more platforms. the graduate will also learn the basic techniques necessary to design and develop an information system.
This degree will enable the graduate to obtain employment as an application programmer/analyst.
