Long time with no photos, for some reason. Perhaps we were just too exhausted to think about taking the camera on outings.
On the other hand, most outings were to the regular places: trains, playgrounds, kids shops, etc. - nothing exciting.
(In most cases the video camera is better suited to capturing special moments for small, active kids.)
Anyway, this is just the first set of pics from Summer so far; more due soon at the rate I've been snapping recently.
Summer in Vancouver is really wonderful. It is worth the sunscreen and hats (almost every day) to be able to go play outside in
light, comfortable clothes for once (no jackets!). The forest path through to the UBC daycares is also a good place to pick
salmonberries or huckleberries en route, and Tim and Megan are looking forward to the blackberries later on. (The Camosun Bog
nearby also has blueberries, and they love picking them!). Outings to the beach are a must, and all the tourist attractions - and trains! -
are open - many such places close down for the winter. And you shouldn't forget icecreams and popsicles on those hot evenings!
The first weekend of Summer is also Fiesta day in Point Grey, and Tim was much better able to enjoy the rides and festivities this year.
(Megan had fun too but also had a four-hour nap that afternoon, missed her chance for more rides). Summer has also been a
wonderful time for enjoying many birthday parties, playing with friends, and seeing new parts of town (or seeing them in a new light).
More pics added from July. Tim and Megan have been going out a LOT on weekends, to birthday parties (mostly daycare friends) and
picnics (some organised by Pia). The gorgeous weather has helped.
