Battlefield : Galactic Conquest

Galactic Conquest is a Battlefield 1942 MOD and it has been produced by only a hand full of people. It is based on all the old Star Wars movies, with all its vehicles, planets and even cruisers and carriers. All hand weapons are laser based, with one exception, there is still an old fashion sniper rifle with proper bullets in it (i don't know why they put that into it).
This MOD is really well done, but requires a lot of players as there has been no bots written for it yet. We had great crack playing GC at the last LAN, even with only a few players.
After a few bugs that come with this MOD, i have to say that it is great as you can just find everything related to Star Wars in it. There is as much Land battle as there is battles in space using all fighters, speeders and cruisers.
If you are a Star Wars fan you have to get this!

On the left we've got the Imperial Tie-fighter, which can driven on the ground and ones taken off the ground used as a very fast jet fighter. The turn ratio in the air of these Tie-fighters is absolutely incredible. On the right we can see a Tie-Bomber, these are lately against armoured defensive towers, but much more vulnerable than the faster Tie-fighter. Gather a few people and use both, that will balance it out.

The massive Imperial Troop drop ships spawing ATA's and is also the Imperial ground base for the attack on the rebels stronghold. On planet Hoth the Imperial have to attack the Rebel base, which has a serious defensive line made up of about a dozen towers. Some of these have a high rate of fire but are therefore less powerful (used against air and infantry defense). The bigger canons are set up against heavily armored machines like ATA's.

The inside view of an ATA. I have never really felt safe in an ATA, because the way it moves makes you think the whole machine is going to turn itself over with every step. I like walking up mountains, only then will the ATA turn over for sure (it just looks funny). They may look dangerous but compare to all the other weapons in this MOD, i would categories this one as rather weak and very slow. Not a good choice on big maps.

These are imerial transport ships as seen in return of the Jedi. The one on the right flies like a helicopter, but once up in the air pressing the forward key and it actually turn out to be quite fast. You need at least 3 people in order to be able to use most of this ships weaponry. The primary canon can take out anything with a few shots. Its very hard to control though. Those triangular shaped yokes on the left can be used on the ground and in the air, but be careful when using one of these on the ground, it takes very little to make it take off and then smack off the ground.

Yupp, jabbas palace is in it too. Even though it seems large, the palace is hardly noticeable on the hugh desert map Tatooine. You can actually walk into the buildings and take over a flag. When you have taken over the spawn point you will be able to use jabbas pirate ship that has a 5 seater bar in it. (but no drinks)

Here we can see the entire Rebel fleet up and running for the space battle against the Imperial mother ship. All the cruisers can be controlled from the bridge, from there you also use all the onboard defense canons. Some of the big ships have a very destructive frontal canon, that can only be move by a very tight angle, so the only way of aiming at a target is to point the whole ship at your target. Therefore this canon is the most powerful in the game.
