BOOKS

I learned to read before I started kindergarten. I could read my Little Golden Books to myself at five, was inhaling Madeline L'Engle, Judy Blume and Roald Dahl in elementary school, moved up to Ray Bradbury and S E Hinton, and again, Judy Blume in junior high and then on to Phillip K. Dick, Heinlein, Mary Stewart, Asimov and more others than I can mention by high school.

In addition to my 3 or 4 movies, I try to read at least one book a week. I usually make it. Following is a list of a few of my favorite authors. Books by most of them can be purchased in your local bookstore or from Amazon.com

          Romance

          Patricial Nell Warren
          Mary Renault
          Armistead Maupin
Marion Zimmer Bradley (The Catch Trap)

          Science Fiction and Fantasy

          Tanith Lee
Ray Bradbury - The Illustrated Man! The Martian Chronicles! Something Wicked This Way Comes! Brilliant man, dazzling work...
          Terry Pratchett
Marion Zimmer Bradley (The Mists of Avalon)

          Murder Mysteries/Suspense

          Jonathan Kellerman
          Faye Kellerman
          Ed McBain
          Mary Higgins Clark
          John Sandford

and my most favorite suspense/crime fiction writer in the world:

James Ellroy. Read his work. Go to a library or bookstore and get one of his books today. Here's a list to get you started: LA Confidential, The Big Nowhere and The Black Dahlia. While you're at it, rent the movie version of LA Confidential. Great 1950's film noir atmosphere, great looking costumes, great looking men like Russell Crowe, Kevin Spacey, Guy Pearce, and did I mention Russell Crowe? ... what else do you need to know?!?!

          Horror

          Stephen King
          Dean Koontz
          John Saul

          I'll be adding more as I think of them... :}
