the manner in which the data gathered was being analyzed and interpreted.
RESEARCH
DESIGN
This
is a documentary research sought to determine and explore basic facts of the
three leading death-causing diseases in General Santos
City in the year 2004.
SETTING
General Santos
City is a part of Region XII, which is located at the
Southern part of Mindanao. The Municipality of Malungon bounds the city at the North and Northeastern
portions while on the East lies the Municipality of Alabel with the Buayan River the boundary and the Northwest part of
General Santos
City is bound by the Municipality of Maasim. General Santos
City stretches to the southwest to the Celebes sea which separates the Philippines to its neighboring country, Indonesia. The city has been experiencing its economic growth
in terms of producing agricultural products and even in the fishing industry.
The
study was conducted in all the major hospitals found within the City namely,
St.
Elizabeth Hospital, General Santos City Doctor’s Hospital, RO Diagan Cooperative Hospital, Socsargen County
Hospital, Mindanao Medical
Center and The
General Santos
City District Hospital.
METHODOLOGY
The
researchers used the records/ data gathered from the different hospitals in
General Santos City regarding their cases of death-causing
diseases in the year 2004. The data were used as the basis in the ranking and
tabulation of the data on the death-causing diseases in the year 2004 in
General Santos
City.
DATA GATHERING
PROCEDURE
Letters
were sent to the major Hospital in General Santos City asking permission to have an access to the
records related to death–causing diseases. After permission was granted, the
researchers checked the profiles of individuals regarding the cause of their
death and then tabulated the data, analyzed and interpreted by ranking the
death-causing diseases and rated the results in order to answer the problem
statement of the researchers.
