In Cosmo Canyon the battle against the mysterious strangers raged. Chaos and the now transformed Dante battled until the woman known as Penance, Dante's accomplice suddenly headed out of the Canyon, Dante quickly followed suit and they disappeared. Reports have spotted them on a mysterious island, that has been known to be infested with malicious zombies. Also reported with them is a dark haired man and a strange aquamarine haired woman. Their identities are as of yet unknown.
After the disappearance of Penance and Dante from the scene, Bran, the man who kidnapped the Lady Kisaragi of Wutai, suddenly called upon a huge comet to descend upon those in Cosmo Canyon. The Lady Kisaragi used some unknown move to shatter the comet into harmless pieces, but only at the cost of her life. Vincent Valentine, now returned to his normal self, quickly joined forces with Reno Lyndon of the TURKs to destroy Bran. Lyndon used an electric attack called Electric Phantoms that sent Bran into a lava pit to his demise.
Quickly following the battle was Lady Kisaragi's funeral and the inauguration of her son Shinji Kisaragi as the new Lord of Wutai.
In other news, Midgar had fallen into a strange peace with the missing Canon and the general Gustave Vandal. Rumors of a rebellion building in Midgar was spread but was unconfirmed. Those who believe in Vandal's policy of the warriors way heralded his return, while those with other policies cursed his return, Almost as soon as Vandal returned to power a rebellion broke out in Midgar. At almost the same times rebellions broke out across all the cities that were recently captured and forced under Shinra rule. This leaded some to believe that it was a carefully coordinated plan by the mysterious woman Dynesti who is rumored to be the leader of the current Midgar rebellion. Nearly all cities that were taken were lost in this coordinated assault, causing Shinra soldiers every where to retreat back to Midgar and Junon. While the rebellion in Midgar continues to go on, two mercenaries named, Cole Jones and Galeric Daventry, have been reported to have infiltrated the heavily guarded Shinra building itself. Utilizing the attacks of the rebels and a helicopter identified as the Blackjack, which is registered to one Ian Montgomery, they slipped in the sewers and continue to do damage to the Shinra building interior. Their true purpose is unknown. Sources inside the building report that Vandel is using the infiltrators as guinea pigs for newly designed Shinra robots, as well as Doctor Neolacia Tye's experimental attack monsters. Reports will continue as more reports come in.
