Musical Interpretations
I have noticed, that more and more, our society has accepted mindless sex and violence. This has been reflected to me in the music of rappers, and pop groups/people. Rap groups I feel are the worst. These people can talk about just about anything, and claim they can kill people in thier lyrics, and it doesn't mean anything. That seems wrong to me, I guess I'm wrong.
But of course, these people can degrad women. It is their free speech. Even these women degrad themselves. Britney Spears says she is a 'slave for you'. Christina is getting dirty. Those are just the kind of people that we want for role models for the next generations.
Of course, these kinds of people can take over the minds of our younger generation, but any mention of our Lord is frowned upon. We can no longer mention God in public, or else, Lord forbid, (haha) we are forcing our beliefs on others.
Anyway, I have stuggled to find music with a message that isn't destructive. Some of the material is on the edge, unwelcome by parents. I feel that this music sends a message of what is wrong with out world, such as Staind's Open Your Eyes. Another song that I love, is Creed's Higher, this is a glimpse of what we can do, if we stop evil, and hate. Pressure 4-5 gives a very powerful performance, and insight into thier minds, and feelings in the song Dehydration.
