Musical Interpretations

Pressure 4-5 is a very new band. Thier first CD is Burning the Process. I found that in listening to the lyrics that they are filled with a great amount of spirituality. In this manner, the songs became a spiritual journey each time I listened to them. This was the first song that I connected to God.

Dehydration
Faith is falling thoughts come undone and every single cell inside your body goes numb,
just like it never did before just like it never did.
My faith failing whered it come from and every single cell inside my body is numb
shout to anyone in the dark feel these words that create a spark cause theres a...
CHORUS:
Fire that burns us and we cant live without water face the flood cause its going under and only those without wings will die
People speak and sing and stand up but words arent enough to fill my cup when theres a...
CHORUS
Looking up, how Id love to join them but I never learned to fly I never learned to fly
(Thats not the reason) that I have never tried
(What you believe in) I guess it seemed so tired
(What you believe in)So face your own flood together we drown,
just like we never did before just like we never did
REPEAT CHORUS

Reflection
In my apartment, at the very top of Hilltop apartments, hangs a poster above my bed. On this poster are the various names that Jesus was called by during his life. From John 4:10, Jesus is called the Living Water. That is where I first connected the song to Jesus. There is truely a fire that burns at us, burns at our very soul. This fire is hate and sin. Jesus came to us to be the cure to that, the water to quench the fire. The artist at the end of the song says that he is "looking up" and he would "love to join them" but he never "learned to fly". What I believe this to be is that he did not find the way to heaven. Typically, we see angels as humans with wings to fly, and heaven is believed to be upwards, so this seems to be the artist looking to heaven, wishing he was there, in the company of the angels.
