no more thinking for dan
Old news I know: "Thinktank guitarist Dan Thompson is leaving the band!
It was a tough call to make, but the boy's getting married in the new year and he's looking to see what he can do in fields other than music (and prove that life exists outside the imaginary world of rock). Everything's amicable within the band. Thinktank play their final show with Dan on January 4 at the Enigma Bar in Adelaide. Josh Arcus will be taking over where Dan leaves off."

Some TOURS are also up for 2002. Expect the guys to show up in Europe when the album is released. MABY they'll fly over to Canada again as their recent tour there was just fucking amazing. Raised Fist will also play a couple of dates in Scandinavia and most of all Sweden where the band havent done any serious touring since the start. Australia is one of the continents RF have as their nr. 1 priority. Raised Fist is currently working on the songs for the next album. Recordings will start at the 7'th of January. There are no delays involved here, and the release will be sometime around May.

the hives to headline falls
Announced at fallsfestival.com: "With music described as brutal yet sophisticated, energetic, vital and fresh, The Falls is proud to play host to Sweden's fabulous fivesome - The Hives, in their very first Australian show ever. The guys are taking a holiday from a jam packed US tour to drop in and play one show only at The Falls Festival." Ok so I've heard a strong rumour that The Hives are going to tour here with labelmates The (International) Noise Conspiracy but it says one show only, eh who knows? falls cancellation
Millencolin have cancelled their appearance at the Falls Festival on New Years. Still playing are: Blueline Medic, Area 7, Grinspoon, Bodyjar, 28 Days, Warped, Regurgitator and more.
“It was pretty freaky for us getting the call as it is the first time in 9 years that a band has cancelled from The Falls Festival line-up. We have always built really good relationships with bands performing at our festivals and Millencolin was no exception. We know the guys were really looking forward to coming and had even planned a two-week stay in Lorne. But there are just some things that can’t be helped. From our point of view, losing a great act is disappointing but if it’s going to happen I’m stoked it wasn’t last minute. It gives us plenty of time to make sure The Falls is still as good as ever.”

This is really truly fucked. NOFX will be playing at next year's Big Day Out. The lineup so far is "PRODIGY, CRYSTAL METHOD, NEW ORDER, NOFX, GARBAGE, DJ DAVE CLARKE, GERLING, SHIHAD, GRINSPOON, REGURGITATOR, MAGIC DIRT, SUPERHEIST, plus more TBA in the coming weeks!" There will be many changes made regarding security so expect the already high ticket price to be jacked up even more. Looking at the dates it is possible they could do a few extra shows here and there. January* 18 ..... Auckland 20 ..... Gold Coast 26 ..... Sydney 28 ..... Melbourne February* 01 .....
