THE COLOURS OF MODES
It's important,in my opinion,to see the modes like colours of the same tonic.
I have made an example with C,so it's more simple to see the differences between the modes.Of course, those are the colours I feel, and you are free to change them as you feel!
For the moment I am talkin' about the modes more used in rock music.
The startin' mode is the ionian.

If we build the chords ( T-3-5 ) of every mode,we can see that is possible to use a major chord for ionian,lydian,lydian#2,mixolydian and phrygian major scales.
For dorian, harmonic minor, aeolian and phrygian we have a minor chord.
For locrian we can use a diminished chord.
